Links to Lit that don't quite fit

So I was trailing around the internet a little bit, checking out the competition, seeing where else I might flagrantly publisise my own stories, and I found a website (www.cliterati.co.uk) with a link provided to Literotica and a short review that just doesn't seem right.

Maybe I've spent too much time here, but does anyone else wonder what the rest of the world things of this little old community we call Lit?

Here's the 'review' I found:

-------------------------------------
Literotica.com is a great free source for erotic fiction and fantasy. Don't visit the site unless you are very broad minded as some fantasies are a little extreme and a few are down-right misogynist. However, it's full of gems and a great site to visit when you're feeling horny and don't have someone to satisfy your urges. In addition to the work of their Literotica writers, they also accept quality erotic story submissions from readers. They offer a huge selection of fantasies to choose from, and are always on the lookout for new and exciting ideas. Remember, this is an adult erotic web site. No minors allowed.
--------------------------------------

I don't think you have to be all that broad minded to visit this site, do you? You just avoid the areas that aren't for you. Who are 'their Literotica writers'? They sound like some kind of paid-up staff of the site, different from the 'story submissions from readers'.

And 'remember this is an adult erotic web site'. This warning given in the middle of... erm... an adult erotic web site.

Anyone else find strange and/or ridiculous links/reviews of Lit?

Maybe I'm just bored with my work at the moment, but while on the subject of the website that I found this particular link/review on (www.cliterati.co.uk), I had a thought. This website, like many I've seen on the web, is for quality erotic fiction for women. There seem many of these sites around, as though the internet has some kind of anti-women agenda in the field of quality erotic fiction that they have to start a crusade to redress. I personally have seen no quality (note that term) erotic website dedicated to just men, so why this flagrant anti-men stand-point in these quality erotic fiction sites?

As a man, I quite like decent erotic stories, but then I feel unwelcome when the sites say 'for women' and other exclusive statements. I've even been asked to provide stories for a website that was 'produced by and for women' (erm... no, last time I looked I was pretty sure I'm not a woman, so they've obviously not looked at their site tag recently).

I don't know - I think I'm getting old, all this ranting...

:D

We have stories???

Sorry guys... I had too. Okay, yes. Found it a bit odd. But odd like the artwork on the covers of books, which obviously the artist never read.

Or odd as in, I find most reviews odd. Maybe we do have paid writers? Hmmm... wonder what Aiko has been up to lately?

Since, for me, the internet consists of Literotica and A.S.S.T.R.org I haven't seen any strange reviews or links to Lit since I first found it.

I do visit a few other story sites on the web, like Eroticstories and White Shadow, and have found that there are a LOT of misogynistic stories to wade through to find "quality erotica." Some of the misogynistic stuff is technically very well written, so they might be considered "quality" stories in that respect, but the content is definitely "male fantasy" material.

I think that the "flagrant anti-men stand-point in these quality erotic fiction sites" is an attempt to collect stories that are more realistic about relationships and biology than is possible at a site that accepts a broader range of stories than the equivalent of Lit's "Romantic" and "Erotic Couplings" categories.

Net based Erotica seems to be dominated by the fantasies of frustrated male teenagers and I can definitely see the appeal of excluding "male fantasies" from a site to cater more to women's fantasies. On the other hand, I don't think there is any need to collect the misogynistic male fantasies in one place, because they aren't hard to find among hundreds of gentler, more romantic stories. :)
