Okay' so his birthday is next Sunday and I still don't know what I'm wearing! I'm afraid that the garter belt I bought won't stay attached to the thigh highs all day. I also still don't know whet to wear over these black thigh highs or whether to put them on later. I'm thinking of wearing a maxi skirt. But what kind of shoes? I don't wear pumps or high heels so that's out. Ahh I'm going crazy here

What shoes would you usually wear with that skirt? Stocking are a little bit dressy so any sort of sneaker or flip flop is out but beyond that it isn't really all that different from how you'd usually put the outfit together--at least from the outside looking in.
If at all possible I'd say wear the fancy undies when you go out. Mostly because I think you'll be missing out on how really wonderfully sexy they make you feel if you don't. You may join the ranks of we addicts after you wear them a while.
As far as whether they'll stay in place? How active are you going to be? So long as you aren't jogging around I think you'll probably be OK if you get dressed for your date before hand. All day? How long are the two of you going to be out?
To make yourself feel better and gain a bit of confidence, put the whole thing on and wander around the house a bit. This is a little like never trying a new recipe when you're making an important dinner--don't put something on you've never worn and go out on an important date.
We may as well both learn from my fiascoes and save you the trouble. (I got a fabulous blouse once and put it aside for a special evening. Well when I got dressed for said special evening I had about 15 minutes to find an alternative because I hadn't put the damn thing on with the rest of my outfit ahead of time. If I had I'd have discovered that it was too sheer and I'd have gotten something to wear over it while we were out. Always give new stuff a bit of a road test.)

Above all things remember that this is for FUN! If something doesn't go just right you will not die--you'll just be laughing about it for the rest of your life.
