Hello everyone.

A story I submitted was rejected because I have in there some lines formatted to look as though they are from a poem or a chant.

I was told to put <br> or something, but since I submitted my story as a .doc do I have to put those formatting symbols in the document itself?

My understanding is that when you submit it by Word, you don't need any of the typical brackets.

I once helped someone with a story, who was submitting by Word, and I put the brackets. The brackets ended up showing on the story and needed to be edited out.

Nope. You have to code for Word. And the story file uses angle brackets < >, while the discussion board used square brackets [ ].

I don't know what your specific use is, but to use the <br> code, put that in front of what you are setting up and </br> behind it (the slash mark ending the application). I don't use that code.

Hi thanks for your replies.

That answers part of my question. But my larger question is, do I type it inside my .docx, and then submit the .docx?
