Limp Bizkit vs. Korn

My Rock & Roll Bible.....

1) If it don't scare yer folks - it ain't Rock & Roll. Sorry Brit, sorry pretty boys. You be made from the pop machine.

2) By and large, money/success - neuter's creativity. At best money/success confuse reality which in turn negatively effects creativity. This generally means that first albums, first recordings, first couple of recordings - art made by the hungry - are any given artists best efforts. Positive creativity can last out to two or three albums, then......

A whole bunch of negative things can happen. I no particular order they are..........

personality conflicts - pandering to the given artists fans and therefore sales - fat ass laziness - drugs, booze and women - big headed, lost touch with reality, I can do anything I want bullshit - and simply fatigue.

Any one of the above can lead to another, and too they can all intertwine and all exist at once.

The chemistry of any one band - the chemistry that provides them with their first substantial sales - can never, ever be duplicated - impossible. For a band or an artist to endure success and maintain quality output - they must eventually go through the mine field spelled out above. Commitment is key. Once through that mine field, quality creativity can commence but now it will be in a much more mature (and a bit less exciting way) - but this is obviously rare. Most pop artists are literally here today and gone tomorrow. And with good reason - all the reasons listed above.

There are no musical geniuses today - there are some highly creative and sometimes prolific, business savvy artists.

Sorry Sparky, I was with you until you called them artists.

As a parent...

I'm a 25 year old, single mother of a beautiful 4 year old daughter. She idolizes Britany Spears without any influence from me because the images she sends out makes me sick to my stomach. I would not EVER call her, The Backstreet Boys, 98 Degrees, NSync or any of the other boy/girl bands "Rock music" To me, it's an insult to even consider them in the same class as true rockers. And Sparky, you're right, it's not Rock 'N Roll unless it scares your parents. At 25, I can still scare the hell outta my mom with some of the music I listen to. LOL

" Woo Tang killer bee's and the Limp Bizkit "

Limp Bizkit and no I don't wanna fuck Mr Durst . I just like the style and fusion of Guitars and Rap and then throw in a D.J scratching and Laying down beats over the rest. It does it for me .

"Should have left my pants on this time
But you let me dive right in"

Korn.... 2 or three good songs an album Limp Bizkit... seem to be the same

Either way dont really care

can we shoot 'em both?

j/k

talk about a headache...

black sabbath.... iron man....
led zeppelin.... (look at the quote)
AC-DC...
Rush, Styx, Yes, Kansas, THAT is music. Metallica, even if they are sellouts.

!!!I Did it ALL for the nookie!!!

LIMP BIZKIT...absolutely!!!!! But if you don't like substance, kick ass music with hard edge and a cute lead siger who has something intelligent to say...don't listen to them...stick to Britney Spears and the Backstreet Boys!!!:):):)

Hmmmm.....~*cautiously looks around*~

This seems like a relatively safe and meaningless post to waste a few words on.

I'd say Limp Bizkit.

Cuz he's got one of those cute little cocky attitudes. Just adorable. Plus, 'break stuff' describes about 7 days a month for me :D

I like the little red hats too.

Korn hurts my eyes, and ears, and scares me.

To me, the question is which group makes me get out of my chair and run faster to change the station. It's close, but I'd have to say Limp Bizkit.

TOTALLY AGREE,,,

Definitely gotta go with Korn.

I think that Limp Bizkit can work up some infectious songs, but I don't the depth that I can pull out of a good Korn tune. To me, you listen to LB and you get everything out of the song after hearing it a couple times. I can listen to Korn alot longer and pull myself more into it.

I don't own albums by either group, but I do find myself bobbing my head to Limp Bizkit when I do hear them. What's weird is that the only Korn I listen to - the only Korn that gets me - is techno remixes of "Freak on a Leash" and "A.D.I.D.A.S.". (BTW, I know it's old, but the video for "A.D.I.D.A.S." is still one of my favorite videos.) I predict the next big music trend will be hard-edged guitarish, with electronica influences - something akin to a Korn remix, or The Prodigy's good stuff.

What music do you listen to when your andrenaline is pumping and you want to punch holes in walls or run for miles? For me it's

Refused
Tool
Rancid
the above Korn remixes
Prodigy's "Slap My Bitch Up"

What music do you listen to when you're chillin? For me it's

Radiohead
Travis
The Smiths
A Perfect Circle

I like "Breathe" better and for some reason, I'm really getting hooked on Slipknot. I have been an Offspring fan for awhile, though I prefer some of their older stuff, ie. "Bad Habit".

As for chillin', lately it's been Dido (Eminem sampled her stuff on his latest album) and this band called Hooverphonic.

Revved up music includes:
Korn
Nine Inch Nails (hard songs/remixes)
old Metallica & Megadeth
certain Pearl Jam songs

Cool down chillin' music includes:
the Cure
Garbage
U2
various Classical
Irish/Celtic music

There's always more, but these come to mind immediately. plus, sometimes the speadier songs can relax.

 Music that gets the adrenaline going ...

Any Cypress Hill ,
Any Rage Against The Machine ,
Metallica - Kill em' All and Ride the Lightning ,
N.W.A. - Straight Outta Compton
Slayer - Reign in Blood and South of Heaven ,
The Prodigy - " Diesel Power " , " Out of Space " and " Everybody in the Place " ,
Voi Vod - War & Pain and RRROOOAAARRR , ( A great Canadian Band ) .

 Music that Soothes and Chill's me Out ...

Any JAMES Album ,
K.L.F. - Chill Out ,
Metallica - Master of Puppet's ,
The Prodigy - The Dirt chamber's Session Vol. 1 ( Not Really a Prodigy album , It's just Liam Howlett in the studio with a couple of turn table's and some of his fav track's . Mixing some Classic Hip Hop and Rap , throwing in some Jane's Addiction , Primal Scream , The Sex Pistol's and Even some Barry White ) ,
Thin Lizzy .

Then there's the every day stuff I like listening to - Limp Bizkit , Green Day , Ice-T , Ice Cube , The Stone Rose's , Inspiral Carpet's , Cast , Early Oasis (first two album's) , Ocean Colour Scene , Grand Master Flash , The Sugar Hill Gang , Acid House , E and Piano tunes from the late 80's - early 90's British club scene . I could go on but that's enough of my music taste's :D .

old, new, limp V. korn

The fact that we're getting guys in this little chat about the difference between their music and our's now is pathetic. I'm not saying that some of their points aren't valid, but it's totally off the subject. Personally, I'm into Sammy Hagar, former lead vocalist for Van Halen, but at the same time I would definitely pick Limp Bizkit over Korn because it is not all about self pity. Then again when in depression ask me the same question and we'll see what my answer is. The difference between the bands of yesteryear and now is that they were artist, now we have a lot of venting bands, whatever the population feels it needs is what we are going to have.

"shoot something:"
indecipherable-lyric death metal (you know who they are)

"cool:"
Ozzy. Black Sabbath. Crazy Train, Iron Man, Ghost Behind My Eyes...
Metallica. My two favorite songs by them are Disposable Heroes and Turn The Page.
Judas Preist, Break'n the Law
AC-DC. anything.
Queen. I miss Freddy Mercury. :(
Hendrix
Green Day, Time of Your Life
Beatles. Back In The USSR!
Jefferson Airplane/Jefferson Starship/Starship. people have told me I sing like Gracie. :D
Kansas, Perfect Lover
Three Doors Down, Kryptonite
Methods of Mayhem, New Skin & Metamorphosis
(I have no idea who it's by) My Angel Is The Centerfold
lotsa neat stuff.

Both are sweet but Korn is much better in my opinion. They're one of the few bands EVER that constantly come out with songs that I like.

As for the whole 'New music vs. Old music' thing, I say: as long as it's good I'll listen to it. I could be listening to a Korn song one minute then one from Hendrix the next. I find that if you hang on to the old style and not accept the new it makes you seem older then you should be. Just my opinion.:)

thank you

Ex: In my 5 disc changer on shuffle right now, is...

Brand new (and a young pop band) Grandaddy - The Sophtware Slump, there second album and really good.

Also brand new (but an old band) The Band's Greatest (remastered) hits.

Cocktail Mix - Martini Madness - pretty old stuff from the late 50's, 60's - Hef kind of pajama jazz.

Blue Train - John Coltran - serious vintage jazz.

and..

Danny Gatton/Joey DeFrancesco - Relentless - genious virtuosity on guitar and Hammond B-3.

This until I get bored - tomorrow - when another mixture of really old and really new go into the shuffled hopper. Maybe a country thing in there then - maybe a couple of female artists. I hate sameness.
