I haven't been around much these past few weeks - I'm probably not going to be around much more till after the first of the year...

But in many ways this place has become part of me over the past year or so... and I do wish I could be here more often... its all cyclical...

There are people I see every day who are nominally my friends, but are more so by proximity than nature...

There are a few friends I haven't talked to in 10 years or more who, if they were to call - I would be there for them without a second thought...

I have made such acquaintances here and such friends... I have been intellectually and sexually stimulated in this place...

I have had my patience tried and my worries soothed...

I have seen the world in microcosm... and it is all goodness...

It is as it will be as it was once more...

Happy holidays my friends... happy whatever... I've posted before about the origins of the particular belief systems we tend to with our rites in this day and age - its all more ancient then most realize - its all more pagan then most care to believe...

It is stag and maiden... it is trees and fertility, it is death and rebirth again and again and again...

It is the wheel... it is the cosmos... it is primal unending liquid life...

It is whatever you want and deeper then you know...

Well actually - lilminx and MissTaken... its not a fertility wish from me... I was just explaining the actual meaning/tradition behind bringing a tree into your house this time of year. If you do so you're wishing the fertility on yourself, you know...

The tree has nothing to do with Christ or Christmas or Christianity - its just another pagan tradition that was absorbed into Christianity...

I survived the ridiculous extended Christmas that we indulge in every year... inlaws, step-mom, my family, mom's house. All on different days, thank the gods.

I didn't even get a bible this year! Or a ration of shit for not setting up the nativity scene... so it was a good year. Maybe someday I'll have Solstice off work and can celebrate MY holiday.

Does using an artificial tree bring you artificial fertility? Cuz I don't need ANY of the real stuff!

I know the feeling very well - we go through the same thing - times 2 (xmas AND Channakuh). Several different houses and groups of relatives and friends... fun (for the most part), but exhausting).

Artificial fertility? No such thing that I'm aware of... perhaps an artificial tree brings overwhelming desire to copulate yet without fear of pregnancy?
