Congratulations! Do you run with a volunteer service or are you on a paid squad? Do you run with Paramedics as well? Are you a basic, intermediate or advanced EMT? I ran with a volunteer service a few years back. We had only EMT~I's. I really enjoyed it. That same service now has full time Paramedics and EMT's don't get to do much besides drive the rig. I hope you enjoy yourself! It is a very rewarding field to get ito

I love the EMT. There was a wreck outside my house. I heard the crunch. I went outside. I was thinking: fuck do not move. He was out of the car on the ground. All I could do was hold his head with sure steady c-spine precautions.

The blood running on my no glove hands.

I kept thinking: please EMT, please EMT arrive to relieve me with the collar and board.

And believe it or not-- some lady came over and started cleaning his face-- it is always the "distraction injuries" that people worry about.
