the basic idea is based on Final Fantasy Tactics and FF12, which are set in the same world.

races:

Viera: humanoids with rabbitlike ears
Humans (hume): humans, duh
Seeq: puglike creatures with horns on their foreheads, sentient
Bangaa: sentients with long floppy ears and a long snout, walks semi-upright
Moogles: small bunnylike creatures, sentient.

I have beaten Final Fantasy Tactics for PSX. The REAL Final fantasy Tactics. Not the dumb, crappy Final Fantasy Tactics Advance or Final Fantasy XII.


In what setting do you intend to put this RP in, exactly?

Final Fantasy Tactics was very much like a real Middle Age, with an acute social classes system (nobles and commoners, church, the crown...), a realistic and gritty setting. However, women were held in as high as regard as men when it came to all jobs (knights, priests, and the such had their female counterparts). Magic was very much the same as in the older FFs, with summoning being an offensive magic for normal combats and not summoning doomsday creatures that could destroy entire cities.

All in all, the original was more realistic, gritty, dark, and its plot revolved around political backstabbings more than devils and what not. Although it was very good in that regard too.



About FFXII, haven't played it (Europe is the videogame world's ass, more or less). I do know about the races, and that the world seems to be the same generic steampunk crap with idyllic landscapes and flying ships.



I guess that you could go for either of them, or do a mix.

Personally, I would have gone for a mix of the Final Fantasy Tactics setting (politics and crap), and let the characters be any of the races presented in FFTA/FFXII. Put them in as... well, as inmigrants from Ordalia/Romanda/any other country.

Look them up in Wikipedia, they are right there: the races of FFTA/FFXII are pretty simple to understand.

If you want me to, I could offer a summary of the story of the game/country.

It all depends if you want the story to take place before, during, or after the Lion War. (A civil war between the pro-prince and pro-princess factions that fought to name one of them the successors, and their respective leaders the regent until they were old enough to govern.)

i have played the original tactics x.x...i'm thinking after the events of FF12
