Life Imitating Art

A several thousand word confession! I hope they let the poor man have a keyboard in there. 25 years for hocking a cell phone!

The mystery writer Dorothy Sawyers has one book, "Strong Poison" in which a woman who writes mysteries is arrested for the murder of her boyfriend. One of the main reasons she's a suspect at all-- is that she writes mysteries.

Presumably, this man has details in his book that weren't made public.

I hope so, because if the extent of the evidence against him is that he wrote a book and called the victim on the day he died, then it's pretty flimsy to be giving him 25 years.

He probably read about OJ Simpson's book.
See, that's where the police made their mistake in that case. They should have waited till *after* he wrote the book to arrest him

Hmmm. That could be an interesting question. "For which of your own stories would you most like life to imitate art?"

This would be easier for me to answer, myself, if I didn't keep killing, crippling, or driving to madness the central characters of my stories.

What a maroon!

Just couldn't keep his mouth shut. Usually they just blab drunkenly in bars.

But to write about it so descriptively and have an association with the victim?

The perfect murderers you never hear about--for obvious reasons. Unless there's a death bed confession.
