So, amongst other things.. This is a belated yet shameless self-promoting anniversary thread. It's probably also gonna be fairly self-reflective and rambling. If you ain't at all interested in what whisper and I (mostly me, since she can write her own posts ;) ) have been up to, or you have no clue who the hell we are, feel free to hit your back button now, and go read something more interesting. :)

But for those of you that remember us.. I believed, a year ago, that whisper and I were the AH's only met-on-lit-and-got-married-couple. There was Mrs D. and the Mrs, of course, but they didn't meet on lit, so I figured they didn't count ;) But yes, we met on Lit. In the AH. And 6 months later, we were married.

So, life after Lit. You see, to a certain extent, this isn't necessarily a bad title for this thread. I think the posting from whisp and I dropped off fairly shortly after I moved to the US and we got married. There wasn't really anything sinister in that.. Our life just got too busy to check in very often.

Life changes, y'know. Your life changes, circumstances change, and things change around you. And speaking for myself - Lit and I simply drifted apart. Don't think for a moment that I didn't miss it though. :)

But it's been a good year, overall. Whisp and I married March 12 last year, and so we've just had our one-year anniversary. That's one reason for posting this thread..

It's funny how time goes by, of course. It doesn't seem like a year. The summer came and went. Fall (or autumn arrived) We jumped through a bunch of immigration hoops and finally got me my green card, which means that finally, I got to go back to work, doing my webdev computer geek thing.

I lived through my first New England winter. Saw some terrible weather. Shovelled more snow than I thought it was possible to shovel. We moved to another city, about an hour north of where we were, during the middle of winter.

And here we are again, heading through the rain and hail into mud season. 15 months or so after I first landed at Logan International airport. A year after I married whisper.. So, a time for reflection, maybe.

But I'm sure you guys, (even the ones that remember whisp and I) don't want to hear the rambling musings of a man who's finally foud his place in life - You want to know what we've been up to. What life after Lit is really like ;)

Some of you will be disappointed to find out that I didn't do NaNo this year. It was an experiment for me last year, and one that I felt turned out pretty good. I got a 75,000 word novel out of it, after all. No real complaints here. But these days, I don't write at all. No, after I moved here, I went back to my first creative love - Music. Whisper and I decided that to do anything right, we would have to put some serious time into it - And that's so true. Leaving the music, the computer games, everything else by the wayside has really allowed me to focus and concentrate on my music - to hone and polish the songs, to practise and improve my singing, my stage presence and my all round performance.

Yes, folks - From moving here, to marrying whisper, to getting a job that I love to do, to playing music better than I ever have..

This has been a good year.

Yes Congrats are indeed in order for the two of you.

Congrats raphy and whisper.

Hardly knew you, but what I knew I liked. Glad to hear you're doing well.

Brilliant, Raphy, I believe strongly that the heart is smart, and usually tells us the right direction to travel in our life if we stop and listen to it. You two prove that to me.

Good to hear from you Raphy, and congrats to you and Whisp. Been a long time, but the update is ... amazingly satisfying ... not porn ... but satisfying. ;) HAPPY for you both, and envious kinda.

Welcome back, Raphy. Knowing you and Whisper were newlyweds, I don't believe anyone was shocked y'all weren't seen around Lit. But you two have put up with each other for over a year. In this day and age, that means you're now a certified old married couple. That being the case, I hope both of you will spare us a minute or two every now and then.

Congratulations on the one-year annivesary. Og and his lady just celebrated their thirty-third. Maybe y'all can compare notes.

Aww Raphy that was lovely to read, many congratulations to you and Whisp :rose:

I'm glad to hear you're happy in wedded bliss and I know what you mean by the time flying past so quick, this year is Hubby and mines 5th wedding anniversay and that means we've been together for 8 years now. Amazing considering it all came from a bottom pinch in a chat room *LOL*

Thanks for inspiring me to reminisce

We certainly had been curious as to how things had gone for you and whisp. Wonderful to see it all turned out so well. Please check in from time to time.

Congrats on the first anniversary!

Congratulations to you both.

Only piece of advice from an old married man - never stop listening to each other, including for what ISN'T said.

Og

I was very happy to see this and think it is great that you two are doing well and that the music is flowing...

Now, when the first album comes out, you have not forgotten how to use that Private Message" feature, right?
