That's true, but that provision was repealed after the Civil War - almost 150 years ago. Additionally, it applied to all slaves, white or black. What does it have to do with the Constitution now?

That is interesting, but I am fairly certain that any white Irish in the 13 colonies were no longer slaves by 1789.

According to the linked article, shipments continued until 1839, at which time, the Sassenach apparently developed a conscience. Of course, that didn't mean the Irish slaves were released then.
