Boy's mother owns a hotel or motel in an oil / gas boomtown. Needing to compete with the rival establishment, she slowly encourages son to dress and provide 'extras' for their guests. Eventually, the rival hotel, run in a similar way by a mother daughter team, folds and ends up working for them as well.
