He was struggling to buy something for his daughters, but found out stepdad already got it for them. One weekend when it’s his turn with his daughters, they said they’d rather spend the weekend with friends. He has had enough at that point and disappears. He has a friend in the southeast part of the country, so he goes to work with him. He also is developing a drinking problem. His friend has frequent parties, and the MC hooks up with guests. A few months later, he meets a girl who is pregnant. I think she had fallen and hurt her ankle. He gets her home and takes care of her.
