... I want to be a priest. I really really would like to be a priest. Honest. But I don't care for *any* of the religions that exists today. None of them quite fit who I am or what I want to teach...

Is it odd that I want to start a new religion?

The last 2 guys that I heard of that tried to start a new religion named himself after a nursery rhyme and the other got his ass set on fire by one of the most unattractive women on Earth....

Save yourself the torment and choose from what we already got....

As long as it doesn't involve everyone wearing Nike's and waiting for the little green men to land, I suppose it's not odd.

And if it does, you can get sponsorships...

No little green men. No Nike's. No over inflated egos or human sacrifices. No hating people for being themselves. No "one wayism." Just something sincer and straight forward.

Bo...as in Lil Bo peep and that guy at Waco......

Never heard of Lil Bo Peep... He must of taken Crowley too seriously.

The Wacko in Waco? Uh... I wouldn't want to be set on fire by Jannet Reno, thank you. :)

I think being a priest would be simply wonderful. Not so much as a symbol of organized religion, but more like a public guidance counselor. I find great joy in guiding lost souls in the right direction and helping to make good peoples lives even better! Is that mostly the reason you'd like to become one as well Black_Bird?

There's a great song by a now-defunct Texas band, The Judy's, called "Guyana Punch." Pretty funny if you can find a dl of it.

YES! I really do enjoy helping people... talking to them and listening to their problems. I also like to see the joys in their life. AND, I love ritual! and I've always, ever since I was a child, constantly contemplated about the divine...

It's just that, I hate politics... and that, unfortunately, is where most modern day religions find themselves.

That whacko in wacko as you put him and that "cult" was a law abiding 401k independant baptist church.

the situation came about purely of government greed.

Though I disagree with the doctrine that was being teaching, they did nothing wrong. Especially the children.

Have you ever seen the FBI videos? Doubt it, not even the freedom of information act can get them released to the public.

Whiel they were avaialbee you could see that an FBI agent was purposely snipere position behind the building on a roof top to fire upon his own men who didn't know he was there to start the fire fight.

The fire fight consisted of the FBI and Swat teams assaulting the "compound" a church with high power assault weapons and grenades versus women children and men armed with 3, 10 shot .22 caliber guns of which until the FBI confiscated and hid away never to be found again reveald that only 2 shots of the 30 possible had been fired.

But then again I am just a nutcase, thats why none in the public can get access to the video tapes and phot grpahic and forensic evidence.

Hell no it's not odd.
I've had the same idea for some time.
I'm not exactly thrilled by the options available either.

As long as there is no sex and plenty of drugs you got my vote.
Fucking sign me up.

In regards to the Waco incident,
I think that Janet Reno did the right thing.
Fucking went in there and ruled ass.
Don't believe that bullshit that the FBI set the place on fire...it was those animals on the inside.
