Do you think that tarot cards actually have the potential to predict the future accurately? If so, what is your theory on how they work? If not, then what his your theory on why people believe they do?

I put a fair amount of stock in them, but have no idea why.

And for the record, your readings are very accurate.

Yes!

I think for the most part the tarot reader plays a big part in it. It's all in how the cards are interpreted.

Or, I'm just gullible.

Hey Dilly, are we still on for that bridge in Florida? ;)

I do think there is something to them...

I have done a few readings, but not in a while.
It tends to give me the creeps

How do I think they work?

Humans are pure energy, if you send off enough of your energy, you can't actualy conrtole where each card will go in the deck. so the cards aren't telling the future, it's you that are minipulating the cards to tell a story of how the future may ened up if things continue as they are.

yes they do work- but the future is not set in concrete- one small change can change the whole thing.

Cards work on the principles of quantum physics and I will save the long and technical explanation. Basically all things are bits of energy and the bits of energy can go both forward and backward in time (sortof -more really technical stuff here, that I can't easily explain) any bit of energy that has touched a bit of energy at any point in the future or past has all the information that the other bit of energy has- and that is the short and not very well explained quantum physics reason of how tarot cards work.

I actually read a book or four on this.

Now as long as Black Bird doesn't use a fake Jamaican accent- I would love a readin sometime. :D

The important thing to remember when getting a Tarot reading is never to hit when the dealer is showing The Hanged Man. :)

[fake Jamaican accent]Ah, honnee, you don't want to make fun of Miss Cleo, do you? Her fake Jamaican accent is very real, I assure you. I see bad things in your future if you continue poking fun at Miss Cleo. Oooh, and heres the death card. You'd better becareful messing with the Jamaican Tarot Queen; I've got friends in low places, ya know?

Mmm - and one's eating my pussy right now.

So don't wait! Call my 800 number and waste a hundred or two on my readings! Before I come like like a juicy grapefruit![/fake Jamaican accent]

ROFLMFAO

One of my sisters used to do tarot readings for the rest of us when we were kids. The readings were usually strangely accurate. Havent done it in years though, maybe I am about due.

Chewey

I do one for myself every couple of weeks on a 32 card spread- it is really accurate and predicts strange little things that don't even seem worth mentioning and occasionally it predicts big things

I just have a question about this Miss Cleo person...does anybody get calls from her hotline thing??? Damn ppl keep calling me!!! :(

As someone who used to push the triangle on the Ouija board . . .

I don't believe that Tarot cards, runes, astrology, tea leaves, etc. predict the future but I do think they have redeeming value. I believe anything that causes you to reflect on your life and your expectations helps you be a more emotionally stable person.

My suggestion for people who have found amazing correlations between Tarot cards and their lives is to have a friend pick out a random sign's horoscope for one of two weeks and your own sign for the other. See if you can tell by the horoscopes' applicity (I made that word up, I think it sounds better than application) which week is which.

Fortune telling gains its meaning through our interpretation. I believe we read our own fortunes; people are just looking for someone mysterious yet approachable for support.

Not sure if I believe in them or not, as I've never had a reading done. I'd like to though, because like most people, I'm interested in hearing all about myself ;)

I don't know why I believe, I just do.
And, both readings you have done for me Black Bird have been rather accurate.

B_B, you're a MAN, i KNOW it!

and why did you drop Trent for...for...THAT!?

I believe

I'm not sure why it works, but I have had amazingly accurate readings, including the one you did for me. In fact, I've made major decisions based on Tarot readings and have always been pleased by the outcome.

The truth is the everything works.

I know it, tarot, palm reading, short therapy, long therapy, aggression, pacifism, democracy, dictatorships - they all work, in a fashion.

I don't work though. Work was a punishment given to Adam and Eve from God for eating apples. So I don't work. But Tarot does.

I think some are more talanted than others with reference to predictions. Some people clain to be seers but only point out the obvious and make generalizations that could apply to anyone!

Now there are a few who have damn right scared me, those are the ones to heed, of course wanting to know and what they tell you may be at odds with your hopes and dreams;)
