I was reading today and came across an article that made me wonder. The Scottish Cultural Resource Network wants to create a online gallery similar to the one at the National Portrait Gallery in Edinburgh. The article asked that people vote for the most influential Scot of the last 100 years. I assumed (silly me) that people would vote for Alexander Fleming (inventor of penicillin), or John Logie Baird (inventor of TV). I was surprized to see Sean Connery and Billy Connelly on the list. An actor and comedian just don't seem to measure up to the same impact. What do you folks think?
Oh and if you want to vote you have until the end of Jan 2002. To cast your vote go to www.scran.ac.uk and click on great scots to vote
