during the armed takeover of the michigan statehouse by right wing goofballs, let's pretend a 17 year old black kid from a neighboring state, with an illegal long gun, drives to the insurrection and confronts said goofballs and in the process kills 2 people. how does this story end?

and let's have a musical interlude while you think about it:

Strange Fruit
Billie Holiday

Southern trees bear a strange fruit
Blood on the leaves and blood at the root
Black bodies swingin' in the Southern breeze
Strange fruit hangin' from the poplar trees

Pastoral scene of the gallant South
The bulgin' eyes and the twisted mouth
Scent of magnolias sweet and fresh
Then the sudden smell of burnin' flesh

Here is a fruit for the crows to pluck
For the rain to gather
For the wind to suck
For the sun to rot
For the tree to drop
Here is a strange and bitter crop

Suppertime
Ethel Waters

Supper time
I should set the table
'Cause it's supper time
Somehow I'm not able

'Cause that man of mine
Ain't coming home no more
Oh, supper time
Kids will soon be yelling

For this supper time
While I keep from telling
That that man of mine
Ain't coming home no more

While I keep explaining
When they ask me where he's gone
While I keep from crying
When I bring the supper on

How can I remind them
To pray at their humble board
How can I be thankful
When they start to thank the lord,

Oh, lord!
Supper time,
I should set the table
'Cause it's supper time

Somehow I'm not able
'Cause that man of mine
Ain't coming home no more
Ain't coming home no more

Not well for the black kid, certainly.

As he lay dying and dreaming about his childhood sled, just befoe he passes he utters one final word: Rosebud.

Apples to oranges.

The people/protesters at the Michigan capital building weren’t attempting to destroy/loot. If they’d been behaving similarly to the groups in Kenosha it would have been a much different headline.
