"Dutch" it these days, and so it seemed natural that Brad and Simone would start "dating" officially when school started.
Though Dutch wasn't exactly certain what "dating" meant these days, in the era of "hookups" and the subtle distinctions the young ones drew between "dating" and "seeing someone" and "involved"...it was all so complicated, now. Back in his day you were "going together", or you were not, and everyone knew exactly what the difference was.
He scanned the room himself. "No, I don't think so. Or at least I don't remember seeing her here." And I'd remember, he thought. Simone wasn't a girl you would be likely not to notice, or would forget easily after.
Brad looked surprised and a little disappointed. 'Oh. Well, it's just that she said to meet her after your class..." He shrugged and pulled out his phone 'I'll text her," he announced, unnecessarily. Of course he would. That's all they did nowadays: text, text, text...nobody actually talked to each other anymore.
