My partner and I are thinking of purchasing our first strap-on but have absolutely no idea what to look for...
We want something that is thinner, say 1.25 inches, and not too massive in length (*sigh for inexperience*), not too realistic (not into the whole massively veiny with fake hair and balls type thing) and has a good track record in usage, ie good control and comfortable harness.
Lower in price would be best but being picky kind of limits the options, heh.

Also if anyone knows anything about chest binding items and/or soft cocks for strap-ons, I'd love to hear about that too, who doesn't want to walk around with a nice bulge?!

Thanks for any help you can give :)

What gorgeous said, and of course if you can find one near you that you will actually go to, go to a porn shop and ask the staff. ;)

Thanks for replying, I know it is a highly personal choice kind of thing.

I'll have a good look through those websites, Etoile, thanks a heap.

I was just wondering if there was any personal recommendations in favour of any particular brands, shapes, materials, particular products, etc, as there is an overwhelmingly big market out there.

We have searched around nearby sex stores but there isn't very many we have access to around this area in Australia and the ones we have are either catering more to the straight population, males, or anal stimulation products, none of which help us in any way, so the range is severely lacking.
Those we have found (and had bought for us) are either too wide (maybe useful once, ahem...initiated) or have balls which is a major turnoff for us.

Thanks again <3

i'm sorta the wrong person to ask, I have a guy and I use a bullet vibe, neither fit well into your situation.

Though if your not having good access to a porn shop online is the best way to go. Adam&eve have a good variety of things and there's reviews on the items on several. I think anyway, I mostly just look at the blow up dolls for giggles and the videos. ;)

Check out this site - http://www.sh-womenstore.com/catalog/Strap-on+Harnesses.htm?osCsid=90qpjgeangh8m1mr8c6o16p966

Its Uk based but the website is full of useful hints and tips.

Go for a harness that can interchange with other dildos, as once you get into it you always want bigger !!! I went small and then larger and then fairly wide - ended up using the small one for anal play ! LOL

This website has loads of cool non male type dildos is lovely girly colours.

also pay the extra and go for silicone. The rubber ones stink and go a wierd colour sometimes.

With silicone, you can stick anywhere (under arm 1st and it warms up,)so you don't end up yelping with the coldness of it !!

Shape wise, i like one with a bend in it for G spot banging.

Hope this helps. Have fun

Thanks a heap! It's great to hear what different people prefer.
I'll definitely go for something in silicone and a bend sounds great for some precision hitting, hehe :D

Question??

I didnt want to start a new thread since this is a silly question and I hope that it doesnt offend anyone.

I just wentto a toy site http://www.edenfantasys.com/ Eden fantasys and there are 2 area lesbian toys and gay toys, along with Womans toys and of course mens toys and the usual other area. I checked them out just incase if there was a different number to call incase woman where not comfortable if a man answers the phone while they are ordering a sex toy and there the same and so are all the toy.

So my question is why have a separate area if all areas are the same numbers and toy?

It's about marketing, really. People are more likely to click on something they think is "for them" and they won't bother to look at other sections. Some sites, like Stockroom.com, have pictures of people using their products and they have "straight" and "gay" sections for that reason. Otherwise it's just about marketing. :)
