The idea has promise I suppose except for the whole, older sister got pregnant and moves away to have a daughter who is older than the aunt and they don't know each other. So not happening unless we are talking a seriously messed up family.

Instead I could see something like, older sis moved across the country so they don't get together that often. Something like not seen the niece for a few years and niece was a late bloomer. So get a shock when get paired together in the dorm.

I think the story could work. Its not unusual for families to get twisted up over such occurrences.

Older sister gets pregnant, gets the boot from conservative Mom and Dad. 9 months later, the eventual 'niece' is born. Mom and Dad work on a second version of their lackluster first born and a year after the older sister was ousted, they have their second daughter.

Maybe they never tell younger sis about older sis? Maybe they do, but she never really knows much about them. Perhaps, she gets fed up with the conservative house hold and runs away herself, and decides to hunt down older sister. Ends up in far away town, looking for roommate and finds a beautiful young lady who intrigues a side of her she didn't know existed....
