Length of stories?

If you can find logical places, break it down into chapters and post it that way. As to limits on length, every chapter of my story "Danica" was 100-120k in size. That's about 40 Word pages ( 6-7 "Lit" pages ) and 20,000 words. I've seen stories much longer posted too.

Your best bet is to break it down into chapters of no more than half that. Three "Lit" pages is about all you can put up without scaring away 80% of the readers on Lit. You'll get more readers with the shorter chapters.

uh huh uh huh uh huh

I'd have to agree that you should break it down. I suspect most readers wouldn't have the attention span to read an on-line novel. And as writers, we should try to find a good compromise between our writing style and what the readers want. I'm sure almost every writer on here has learned the hard way about posting something that was "convenient". (i.e.- bad scores, rude comments, etc. not like death threats or anything.)
Alot of the readers I get comments from, they don't want to read more than 2 pages in one sitting. But you've got some that will book mark it, and read it over coffee in the mornings. So, i'ts up to you, but I'd say break it down into chapters.

I can say from personal experience that I've been reading plenty of the Halloween contest entries, and I will usually skip over anything that is more than 2 webpages long. On the rare ocassion I will force myself to read something 3 pages, but only if I'm in a very patient mood. And NEVER anything longer than that. I can't speak for the majority, though, just myself.

Thank you!

I guess it's unanimous then ... lol, I'll break it up in chapters. Thank You very much .... :)
