Lemmy Kilmister, founding member and frontman of Motörhead. has died. He was 70 years old.

News of his death was first reported by radio and TV host Eddie Trunk, who was a longtime friend of Lemmy. Several others have since confirmed the news, including Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne, who wrote on Twitter, “Lost one of my best friends, Lemmy, today. He will be sadly missed. He was a warrior and a legend. I will see you on the other side.”


Motörhead have yet to formally confirm the news, though Trunk added that an official statement will be released tomorrow.

Sad news indeed. Philthy Phil died just a month or two ago as well.

Motörhead were fine rockers. Besides being quite a character, Lemmy was a pretty cool, nice guy. Had a regular barstool at the bar at the Rainbow, in LA, walking distance from his place.

When my kids were 10 and 12 i took them via limo to a Motorhead concert.

Crowd outside mobbed the limo thinking the band had arrived.

Next day both got pulled into the office, police were called on suspicion of pot ... Because their new merch-table Motorhead t shirts smelled like the chrinic.

Their mother, a teacher, was not amused.

Good times.
