Draken C. Lastar, the Dragon Human Hybrid of Llonda Forest, awoke after a very vivid dream. He had seen a sort of vortex.....or multi colored hole in the air if you will. From this vortex came demons and creatures of which he had, in all his adventures, never laid eyes on before. After catching his breath, he pondered about where it could have been. It didnt look like any era he had been in in the past, and it in fact looked like his very own era.

He stood up and stretched out his Draconic wings, his tail flicking around as he folded them back behind him. "Only one person can give me some insight on this." Draken said to himself as he walked outside of his hut in the second level of the Llonda Forest Tree of Jade, a giant tree within the center of the forest that was used to house the dwellings of its inhabitants. The tree, also being one of the many artifacts of mana, had other properties as well. It created a barrier within the forest that hid away Llonda forest from intruders of Ill will.

Draken opened his wings, and took to the air rising to the upper levels of the city, he was going to see the Elder Druid of Llonda Forest, Jun-Ontou. He'd be able to give Draken all the answers he needed.

Katien opened one eye as the sun rose in the sky, bringing light to the forest. It was morning already... time to move on. She'd slept under the cover of trees, at the edge of a small clearing. The forest was much too dense for her to walk through, without doing some clearing. It had been many days since she saw her home. Her legs and wings felt heavy as she stood up and stretched. She was not used to flying such vast distances so quickly... and several days of flying had begun to take their toll on her.

On top of being sore, she was starving. She would need to hunt before continuing on. She could see that this forest was teeming with creatures of all sorts. But she also sensed intelligent presences, she could see evidence of human, or some other sentient two leggers all around her. At the moment, she decided to clear the forest before hunting. She didn't need any angry two leggers trying to "slay her" for eating one of their animals. Eating was a part of life, and she didn't understand the fuss some of the bipedal creatures made when she quietly picked off some lunch. She needed to eat, too.

She stretched again, before carefully lifting off the ground and with a few powerful wing-strokes, flying out of the clearing. Her sapphire eyes watched the goings on in the air and on the ground with interest. The bird flying kept their distance - the force of her wings alone was enough to knock them from the air. She had no use for bird, too small to eat... and too twitterbrained to make any sense of. She'd heard that a few species were used as spies by dark creatures... but she had little fear of that. She had no enemies to speak of. No friends either, but a life of mostly solitude had fit her well until this point.

Naka awoke to the sound she usually did, the sound of birds heralding in the morning. Pushing herself from her bed she washed quickly, today was they day she would venture to the Elven parts of the forest and barter for goods. Her basket was packed and all she needed to do was dress and walk out the door. Something in her dreams had bothered her, she could hardly remember it now, but it was important, she knew that much.

Her clothing was plain, the only thing colorful about her was her skirt and the material she wore over her unruly brown hair. It was dyed, she had done them herself from the plants she had found in the forest in her travels. Her skirt was a deep blue while her head covering was a yellow and red combination. Slipping on her sandals, she lifted her basket and letting it rest in the crook of her arm, made her way out the door.

The walk wasnt too far and she didn't mind it at all, she only hoped she would be able to get some more fabric from her bartering. She could use a few more skirts.

Draken

Draken arrived at the Elder Druids hut and was immediatly greeted by his voice, but he didnt hear the Elder's voice with his ears, he heard it with his mind. (You may enter Lastar, you've some questions for me i see.)
Draken did as instructed and entered the hut, sitting down on the floor infront of Jun's chair.

"Elder Jun, i've been having....dreams, as of late. Very vivid dreams, about a....well....a vortex or tunnel of some kind in lands i think to be here on this Continent. Strange things are comming through it, and im not sure of the safety of our continent anymore."

(Your dreams are not false Lastar, and your services as a demon hunter will be needed. This, vortex, as you called it is a Rift through time and space. It was caused by the magic i use on you to send you to different eras to help the destiny of others. This rift is very dangerous in the fact that it has linked every era you have traveled too, included the dæmon Shadow Realm. That is where your katana, sends the souls of demons you had slain in the past. Now that this rift has appeared, all your formerly trapped souls now have a window to get back to their bodies, or others.)

"I understand. Is Penta back from his quest yet? I shall need his services."

(Appentacia? yes your familiar has returned, he should be in the mid area of Llonda, picking up some dragonfly wings for a human druid girl, she'll need them later.)

"Always the all knowing one werent you Jun? If that will be all i shall take my leave of you now, i have some preperations to make."

(You may go my child, and do be careful. With things the way they are im not so sure that you will be able to withold power over Seth....)

*Draken stands up, bows, and then exits. Making his way down to the mid levels of Llonda he spots Appentacia near the cloth bazaar and goes to retrieve him.*

Naka had walked to the tree of Jade, she knew some people there and a few of them had uses for her potions and concoctions. She was soon on the level she needed and within minuets, was talking and adding some fine cloth to her basket. Her strength and sleeping potions tended to be the things that brought people to barter with her.

Walking throught the small area of local sellers she hummed to herself, nodding to those she knew and those who knew her. Today was going to be a good day, she could feel it.

Idly, she watched the path of a girl in the forest... the bright headscarf the little one wore attracting her attention. She stayed high enough in the sky so that she didn't disturb the trees or forest creatures, but low enough to watch the steps of the blue skirted human. She noted the basket in the girl's arms - a primitve carrying device, for certain... but Katien was familiar with them. What was inside was a bit of a mystery, but one she didn't care to investigate. She contented herself with following the girl's path to her destination.

A tree. A large tree that just reeked of old magics. There were other two leggers down there, she could see some, and smell more. She hadn't heard of this place, and wondered what the people would be like. She circled around, considering landing for a closer look... or landing a ways off and walking in.

She'd found she was generally more welcome in human form than in dragon form. People foudn dragons to be intimidating, at best... terrifying at worst. Many were concerned she would eat them. The thought disgusted her. Bony little things, wouldn't be much good to eat at all. Plus, most of them would hardly make a meal... so small and not very meaty.

From behind Naka there was a high pitched 'chirp' and then Appentacia, Drakens green scaled fire lizard familiar, jumped up on her shoulders with a string in his mouth tied to a parcell package. it was wraped in hide and had N A K A on it.

"Penta!!" O.O Draken cried out upon watching his rambunctious friend "Get off that poor girl!" He rushed over and retrieved appentacia, still chirping away to get the girls attention.
(Well thanks Draken, you've just endagered this 'poor' druids life. She needs this package, i was given this task straight from the Elder; something you've not gotten in quite some time.) Penta's voice echoed in Drakens head, the only way the familiar had to communicate.
(Well arent we quite the smart ass today, and as a matter of fact, i've just recieved a task from him before i saw you frighten this woman.) he thought back to him. He bowed to the girl, showing his samurai honor. "Forgive me, i shouldnt have let him out of my sight. He says this package is for you though, is this your name on the front?" *upon getting a clear look at the female he realized just how beautiful she was. He had seen many humans through his adventures, but never one here in the forest, and never one filled with magically energies like she was.*

Naka had been walking along, a tune was stuck in her head. She heard the chirp, a puzzeled look crossed her features as she stopped in her tracks as she felt something land on her shoulders. With a small surprised noise she found a lizard settled on her shoulders. Finding the package in his mouth, she raised an eyebrow quizzically as she heard a voice behind her as the lizzard was lifted.

As the man approached her, she could only hold the small package in her hand and nod her head as he bowed to her. "Not to worry good sir, he only startled me is all. ANd yes that is my name, and I know who sent it. Send my regaurds to him." she said, her deep brow eyes connecting with his. " Good day sir.." she smiled as she lowered her eyes and turned, moving back through the market.

"Er...um....yes i shall do that...." Draken said to her as she turned and began to leave suddenly. (Draken! dont let her walk away, that package isnt the only thing i was sent for damn you. why do you have to show up and mess everything up.)
(Listen you! whos who's familiar here? Besides, what could be so important that the elder would send a fire lizard to do something i could have done?)
(Stop questioning me Draken, and DO IT! She's seen the rift, she's connected to its destiny like you are.)
O.O! "Miss Naka wait!" Draken opene his wings and gave them a flap boosting him up behind her before folding them behind his back. "Forgive me miss, Naka, but my familiar here has just informed me that.....well, this might sound a bit wierd but, have you been seeing.....rifts.....in your dreams? I have too, and somehow everyone whos seen it is connected to it. Im going off to find out where it is, and any assistance or knowledge about it would be appreciated."

As he spoke to her, she turned around. Her eyes lit up as he spoke. "A rift you say?" she asked, giving him a once over. Never before had she seen a man like him. "I saw such a thing, upon waking this morning. All you are saying is a bit confusing..and I'm not sure here, in such a public of places, is the best place to speak about such things." Naka managed as she shifted her basket to her other arm.

"Is a journey part of this search? I would like to give whatever help I can." She looked up at him again, a small smile on her lips, "If you would like, we may discuss it in a more private place...perhaps over tea?"

What was this place, she wondered? It certainly wasn't Earth, she could tell that for certain. For one thing this place still appeared natural; oh, sure, Earth still had her parks and spots of untamed nature here and there but, honestly, whenever she thought of the human world, she could only picture the tall, massive cities of cold iron that houses millions upon millions of the creatures, either crowded around on the sidewalks or bumper to bumper on the roads, pouring pollution into the air and dumping waste in the waters. Why God gave a fig for these worthless souls was beyond her, for it would seem that in the last two thousand years they had gone far beyond any redemption and were falling down the path towards darkness. So, really, what was she needed for? If they're all just going to go to Hell, anyway, than her job was more or less finished. Why waste time ending them one at a time when a single madman amongst them could whipe out countless of his own people with but the wave of his hand. These humans.. they were proving to be more powerful than even the divine themselves. Flying through the skies of Aranathoxia, her mind was filled with such dismel thoughts, one in particular laying heavy on her conscious; if her services were no longer needed, than what was she good for? Would she just fuck her fellow dæmons for the rest of eternity while the Earth burned away? As pleasing as she found sex to be, hanging around humans began to give her a deeper understanding and love for life. She loved the fashion, the food, the music; it all brought her as much joy as any romp with a man could. She wanted to experience it all to it's fullest extent possible before it was gone.

It didn't matter to her superiors, of course. She was bred to do a single job, to fuck, to consume the precious seed that kept the human race going inorder to depopulate it. Her wants and desires mattered nothing to them, she was just there to be nothing but a sex toy. Only her mother seemed to relate to her feelings, being human in origin herself, and she thought that her mother actually felt pleased whenever she did something like partake in the joys of living. Could she have been envious of her daughter? Now, however, she was away from all that, exploring a world completely unknown to her. They say that God works in mysterious ways and she couldn't help but wonder if this world was of His own design or had been completely oblivious to Him? Bah, oblivious to the Father, that's a riot. Still, her own master had scent her hear to explore and to begin seducing any incarnates that she might come across, to lay waste to this land just as they had been doing to Earth. If the sex weren't as enjoyable as it was she would hate herself for what she was to do, but it wasn't like she had the power to rebel, either. No, for the moment she would enjoy her temporary freedom, smiling as the wind rushed over her face and through her hair, her wings keeping her aloft through the skies. Below her she noticed a calm pool surrounded by a thick forest and descended onto the surface, her toes hardly touching the cool water. What fun it was to dance on the surface of the water, to think of nothing around her, to care for nothing around her. To just be happy. She hadn't seen anyone so far, and although she was never ashamed of her nakedness she was glad to be alone here. Yet, if one were to see her from afar, she would have appeared like a crimson flame shining in the sunlight.. or, perhaps, like a lone rose rising from the depths of the waters, her wings spreading outward as she blossomed.

Draken bowed to her. "That would be rather enjoyable, i dont think i've had any tea since.....well, a rather long era. So i've never seen you around here before, what part of the Tree Jade do you live in?"

<You know, Lastar, if i didnt know any better i'd say she wanted to be alone with you. Look at her Draken, you know she wants you to ravish her. Behind that quiet little bookworm look i bet she's probably a na....>
(Still your tounge Dæmon, or i'll do it for you!) A slight look of anger flashed accross Drakens face then dissapeared as quickly as it came.
<Fine, fine, have it your way.>
*Draken shook his head, as if ridding it of a bad thought before turning back to Naka.* "So...lead the way Naka."

Naka smiled at him. "Well, I don't live in the tree anymore...I have a small cottage not to far from here. I haven't lived here for some years now." she informed him as she finished trading the last of her potions and turned back to him. " Follow me," she said gently as they began to walk back down the tree and out into the forest.

"Did you see her?" she asked gently, "Well not see her, I felt her is more accurate. A dragon flying overhead, she's pretty high up by the feel of it..." her eyes lifted to the sky before settling back down onto the path before her.

As he was lead down to the ground level of the Tree Jade, he heard her mention something about a dragon. He quirked his head and heard the rustling of leaves far overhead. "Yea there does seem to be something with a large wingspan up there.....odd, if there really was a dragon in the area then I should be able to sense....." Draken stoped and looked at the runes on his right hand, they were glowing a very faint dark blue color. "There's a Dæmon in this forest somewhere......Things have gotten very odd since this Rift appeared. First the protective barrier around the Tree Jade dissipated, now my powers seem to be on the fritz."
(There couldnt be a Dæmon here could it? everyone would have felt it.....and why cant i sense that dragon above us, i cant tell if its dangerous or not, and we've not had any full dragons around here since Kain.....) Drakens fist clenched at the thought of Kain.
<Watch it, Lastar.....you wouldnt want your, anger, to get the best of you now would it? all these pure elven souls, mine for the taking.>
(Thats enough Seth. You know i've gained more power over you and this forsaken blade.)
<Tell that to the god you killed, or shall i remind you?>
"I said thats ENOUGH!!" Draken shouted and swiped his hand as if swatting something. He then regained his calm with a sort of shocked look on his face.

Katien felt a great darkness in the area. Somehow, this last while... the world had been different. The air had changed - all was not right. She didn't feel as if she was in danger, the darkness was as of yet unseen by her. She felt confident that from her position she could spirit herself away if there was danger. Lazily, she continued her circling, but descended. She scanned the ground for somewhere large enough for her to land.

The area seemed safe enough, and she hadn't felt any danger as of yet. The changes in the air were enough to warrant some questioning of the locals... or a warning. She wasn't sure what the powers of those who inhabited the area were, and if they were weak... they deserved warning that there was a dark creature not far off.

After a few minutes she found a clearing not far from the tree and landed. She knew the brightly coloured human was coming this way, with another, whose species she couldn't place. They would arrive soon, and she could bring them her warning, if it was needed... and see if they knew anything about the changes in the world. Like most dragons, Katien longed for knowledge and understanding of the world.

Naka had walked on, listening to him. She couldn't help but stop as he raised his voice, seemingly talking to himself. "I....did I do something wrong?" she asked turning to him, something in the forest though, taking her thoughts away from him immediately. "Did you hear that?" she asked as she moved quickly away from him and closer to the sound of something entering the forest.

"Follow me!" she called back to him as she ran towards it, hoping with all her being it was not a creature who harbored ill will.

Tower Jet

The large black double doors in the Tower Jet swung open to reveal the master chamber, one so belonging to Kain-Sante; a Warlord and Wizard also specializing in swordplay. A master over the magical arts as well as the weapon arts, he is feared by the entire Shadowland realm which makes up the whole of Endoria, all in his rule.
Zachary Watson; loyal servant, guard, advisor, and second in command of the Shadowlands army emerged from the hall and behind the doors. he had black short hair with one long strand hanging infront of the right side of his face. he had blue peircing eyes and was clad in a crimson colored sneaking suit, ninjeti like in appearance. Crossed over his back were 2 rapiers, narrow bladed with the handles at his lower back.
"You summoned me Master Kain?" He said as he swept the strand of hair from his face which then fell back in place before he took a knee before Kain.
"Yes. Yes Zack I did." Kain-Sante turned to face him, his crimson and black robe swaying as he did. "I have something of importance for you and your brother to carry out for me." Kain's eyes, red in appearance from his years of wizardry in the dark arts, fixed their eyes upon Zachary.
"What is it you wish us to do my Master?"
"Somewhere in the Kalundari realm a rift has opened. This rift seems to resonating with powers far beyond even my own. The problem, they powers dont seem to be either light or dark in nature. I need a visual on this rift, and i need to know its capabilities and where its leading in, or out of."
"Understood Master Kain, will that be all?"
"Do not fail me Zack, i expect there to be danger, and i expect you and your brother will be more then a match for whatever may come out of there."
"Of course we will be."
"You are dismissed. Go retrieve Dack, wherever he may be feeding his face this time, and leave as soon as possible."
"Yes my Master." With that Zachary left the Master Chambers to do as instructed.......

"No Naka, no its not....." Before Draken could even finish she suddenly took off in the direction they had been going, but rather quickly. "Hey wait! it could be dangerous!" Draken opened his draconic wings and took off to catch up with here. When he reached her she was frozen in place, peering at the most beautiful of dragons he had ever seen. It was Black scaled, tall, and rather intimidating in size untill you saw its eyes. They were majestic, intelligent, like there was much more behind those eyes then anyone could ever comprehend. This would be Drakens first encounter with a full blooded, full formed dragon, and was totally unaware how to approach it.
Draken, unsure if it could understand the hume tounge, decided to speak in draconic instead. {Dragon, i am Draken C. Lastar; guardian of these woods. Is a pleasure to meet one such as yourself. My question to you is simple, do you mean harm or are your intentions of good?} As he asked this question, Draken kept his wings open, and his right hand outstretched ready to deal with any imposing threat untill told otherwise.

The human rushed into the clearing and appeared to be astonished and rendered speechless by her presence. A throaty grumble came from within her belly - it sounded intimidating, but the dragon was merely chuckling at the reaction. It was only seconds when the other two legged one followed. It was her turn to be surprised when he spoke in the tounge of dragons. He appeared to be a creature she had only heard whispers of - half human and half dragon. She had never seen one of his kind, and found the combination quite strange at first.

She stared at him a long moment before responding. Her voice was clear in his head - her vocal chords not being very useful for vocal speaking. I mean no harm, two legged dragonling. I am Katien and I come to bring warning of a change in the air, and a darkness present in the forest. I cannot tell if the dark creature means harm, but it is not far off. she told him, and then dipped her head and closed her eyes a moment, curling her tail around herself.

Her eyes opened again, and her voice was in the human's head, speaking in the local human tounge. Little bright one, I am Katien. Your friend, the dragonling can tell you my business, but you may know I mean no harm to any. she said. She didn't want to leave the girl out, it seemed rude to talk to just one when there were two present.

Naka was rendered speechless when she saw the dragon. She had only ever seen them in books, books the Druids used in their teachings. As she heard the voice in her head, she nodded and curtsyied. Her head bowing.

~Thank you. I know you mean no harm, I could tell before I came into the clearing~ she assured her as she stood straight again. "Should we go investigate this being then? I felt it too..." she offered looking from Katien to Draken.

{I am unsure, i thought i had sensed a demonic presence, but my runes seem to be failing to react accordingly. As with yourself, i cannot sense you even though you are of dragons blood and standing right before me. If there is something of demonic nature here, we need check it out to see if it means evil or good. Evil is something not tolerated by these Druids, and it is better dealt with by myself, then them.} He turned towards Naka. "I think it best we do go find this demon, if there is one. This Dragon, Katien, is safe; although if anyone outside this forest see's her, i cant guarantee her safety." Turning towards katien he asks, "Do you have an alternate form? i've often read in my studies that dragons are able to hide their true beings?"

She dipped her head in respect to the human, but then turned her attention back to the winged one, but her voice was for both of them this time. I do have another form, yes.... to conceal my true nature. I do not often like to use it... feel rather clumsy and small in it... and my powers are greatly lessened, along with my size.

She paused a moment. If you mean to bring me to a demon... I must warn you, I do not fight. I do not believe in violence, not even against creatures of dark.

She waited for the response to that. Dragons were not known to be expecially peaceful creatures, but she was one. She felt no need to hurt anything more than the quick death that came to her prey. And every life she took saddened her, but she couldn't survive without meat. Those she had told of her philosophy had usually laughed and called her foolish. Violence was seen as necessary by many, and refusal to commit any violence seen as cowardice or foolishness. She didn't feel as such. Just because she commanded some power, didn't mean she had to use it against others.

Meanwhile, and a tall stone tower in the middle of the forest, a hooded figure which know who the creature had to see the many decades was placing pen to paper and writing his notes.

"Research notes: 300th spring since the Kings united the city use of the Northern realm of Akothia

Like many I had believed that there were only two forces present at the creation of this world; the force of good and the force of evil. I now know this to be wrong for I have discovered a third force, it is not a neutral power but something beyond the two. During the winter months I searched deep in a cave in the Dwarf Mountains I discovered some ancient runes so which I spent many a night translating. What I discovered chilled me to my inner being, a curse laid upon the dragon kind. I fear that this curse will lead to an imbalance in our kingdom. The dragons which, unknowingly, prevent the war between the north and kingdoms in the southern kingdom, the light in the dark, may soon be extinct is in the fragile balance of while we plunged into a war so terrible that a few, if any, shall survive.

I must endeavour to discover the source of this curse, but I fear it may already be too late. If I can at least save a handful of the dragon's then maybe I will be able to avert this terrible catastrophe.

I feel I will have to visit an old friend. It has been too long, but all I could hope is that she still process the book of the ancient language, and that she has been able to interpret the symbols which I failed to so many years ago"

Closing the book, he peered into the crystal ball which was the only outlet into the outside world that may slowly cleared and there she was...

{I do not mean to take you anywhere you do not wish to go Katien, but if this abbomination is not encountered and is allowed to run rampant within the forest; then the Thoxinian Archers will surely find it and give it a fate worse then i could. I stress the importance of at least meeting with it to figure out its purpose.....} Draken pauses, remembering and old friend of his in an era long forgotten. {While i've not met many good intentioned Dæmons, i cant argue the fact that its possible. No harm shall come to you during your stay in Llonda, that i can guarantee you Katien.}

She shook her head, thinking he hadn't quite understood. I do not worry for my safety... I am well equipped to deal with problems in my own way. I just wanted to warn you that if a fight comes, I will not be involving myself in it. If I have no other choice - I will run.

She paused. She was no coward, but if that is what it took to keep herself from having to resort to violence, that is what she did. She didn't leave others in danger if she could help it, but she would not abandon her own philosophy and way for any cost. She would go willingly into the danger, but if there was blood spilled, it wouldn't be at her claws.

I can lead you to the dark one, the presence isn't far off, she offered. He'd mentioned his powers not working, and wasn't sure if he could track the dark entity on his own. She wanted to help in her own way. Avert your eyes she instructed them.

When she was satisfied that she would not blind them, she closed her own eyes. She called some shadows from the trees to help dampen the light that would follow. The shadows cloaked her, and for a moment she dissapeared from view. A flash of light followed, followed by a roar. The change was never pleasant. Dragons are not humans... nor are they the same size. Shrinking was a painful process, as was converting scales to skin, and ridding yourself of a tail. The process was quick - perhaps thirty seconds. The light dimmed, and the shadows started to clear.

From the shadows emerged a girl - by human terms she looked about 18, or so. Tiny by even human standards, she resembled a doll in many ways, delicate and beautiful. Deep black hair hung to her knees and when her eyes opened they were the same brilliant eyes as her dragon form, but in miniature. She was dressed in a black gown that appeared to be fine silk, and hung like it. It fit her like a second skin. The neckline was a low v, almost indecent... but it showed that all of her flesh was pale as moonlight, untouched by the sun. The sleeves of the dress were long, coming to a point at her hands and wrapping around her fingers, extra material draping almost to the ground when her hands were at her sides. A breeze lifted her bangs, showing a sapphire jewel in the centre of her forehead.

She swallowed hard and then spoke, her voice a bit weak from the effort she had just expended. "We may start traveling now."
