Ok, feeling like starting up a new fantasy RP (as my other rp is kinda dead :( ). Fantasy setting with a twist - it's a previously hi-tech, but now regressed world. All races welcome, all moral persuasions welcome. Story to develop along the way (choose any angle you want :D ).

*****

Name: Hrothgar
Race: Human
Age: 26
Height: 5' 9"
Eyes: brown
Hair: brown

Bio: Hrothgar the Swift! Hrothgar the Haughty! Hrothgar Silvertongue! He's known by many names, and for good reason! Hrothgar of Bloodpool is a charming rogue and jack-of-all-trades! He nearly always wears functional, yet slightly gaudy clothes as if he were some form of stage actor. His pack is stuffed with all kinds of appropriated loot, and a fine rapier hangs from his belt. He is a remarkable good rogue and, as such, not really liked by the authorities

Eh, I'll give this one a try. I'm going to assume things like magic, psychics, and plasma cannons are up in the air and may or may not be making appearances.

Name: Slsun
Gender: Female
Race: Azurin
Age: 14 / 23
Eyes: Blue, slight glow
Hair: Light blond, never been cut in pony tail darkened by dirt and dust.
Height: 5' 10"
Weight: 121 lbs.

Azurin: I am borrowing this concept from a DnD book, Magic of Incarum, with some modifications. An Azurin looks human and for all basic intents is human except for two things, first they have slightly glowing eyes, (light blue being most common,) secondly they age faster then a human dieing of old age around 60. Occasionally human parents have an azurin child, no one really knows why. Azurins can breed with other humans and azurins and while an azurin is more likely to be the result more often then not the child is the normal long lived human. About 2% of the human population are Azurins.

BIO: Slsun was born to a human couple as many Azurin children often are. Her father, Regdar, a baker by trade, was an honest man that ran his shop when his hobby didn't get the beter of him. Regdar had two obsensions in life, his family and archology. While he simply loved the idea of holding lumps of metal older then him or the stones that were once bone, he chose to start a family and be a baker in a town called Bloodpool.

When she was nine she outwardly apeared to be 15, an age of aprenticeships and short lived courtships. Slsun knew the basics of bakeing and was frequently courted, but wasn't interested in either. Like many Azurins growing quickly gave her wonderlust, having a body capable of traveling and a mind foolish enough to do it. As fate would have it, she was offered an aprenticeship she wanted. Regdar's connection to all things anchient, Jozan was looking for some extra help. Jozan had known Slsun from the time she was born, and was happy enough to take her along.

Cool Cats! Very cool. Although I'd admit to having a bit of difficulty pronouncing that name correctly

Magic is accepted, and there are a few mages around. Physica and general engeneering principles still apply to most things, only problem is that equipment requireing power to operate, doesn't. Therefore a pistol will still work, and still fire, but a factory to produce them won't.

Seelky Maloan.
Race.. winged elf
Age...23
weght 110lbs
hight 4ft 8 in
wing span...12ft

Avariel are exquisitely delicate elves, with tall and elegantly graceful bodies. Their creamy white skin often has a tint of blue or silver; and their fine boned, angular faces are framed in hair of silvery-white or deep black.
They have large eyes in rich greens, deep blues or occasionally a startling violet. Their bones are similar to those of a bird, air filled pockets replace most of the much heavier marrow. This means a winged elf weighs considerably less than others elves, but their bodies are fragile. Avariel are agile and graceful which allows them to ride the winds with skill, and to move dexterously and quickly on the ground.
The most noticeable feature of the winged elves is not their beautiful faces but the wide, soft-feathered expanse of their wings. These are usually white, but sometimes grey, brown, flecked or even black. An avariel’s wings form a span of between 12 to 16 feet. Like their bodies winged elven clothes are delicate and ethereally graceful. They wear loose fitting, gauzy clothes that move in graceful, windblown ripples as they fly.
Avariel have finely honed senses. They are blessed with the sharp hearing of their fellow elves and like their good friends the great eagles; winged elves have incredibly keen eyesight.
The harshness of their history winnowed out the more foolish Avariel. This, combined with the blessing of Aerdrie, has produced a race strong in mind and will.

Apperance... deep blue black hair, violet colored eyes creamy skin with a tint of blue, her body is willowy in frame yet her arms are strong from the use of a bow, she is dressed in a burgendy loose flowing broom skirt and a white tangtop that ties around the neck, and a with hooded cloak.. causing her to look much like a gypsy. all of her clothing is specally made by her kind so she can wear them even with her wings. She carries a quiver of arrows and a bow as well as a short sword, and a pouch of healing herbs belted at her waist. Her feet are sandled.

Eh, I'll give it a shot

Name: Galen Ozmerel (Galen the Girthy)
Race: Human
Age 40ish
Height 6'1
Weight 290

Once apprenticed to the mightiest mage in the land. Galen the Gaunt displeased his master by dallying with the archmages young daughter. The ensuing magical fireworks left Galens once formidable magical gifts scrambled inside his head.

Galen has since wandered the land, drinking and carousing, and adding pounds to his once thin frame. The only spell he is certain to "know" at any particular time is the one that causes his empty wineskin to be full again. Weakness for women and drink aside...if Galen can concentrate, he is still a very formidable mage.

He has an ancient tome of Johnny Cash lyrics in lieu of a spell book, and in order to cast a spell he must speak a lyric aloud.

I wholely agree about the name but that is the advantage of reading, Slsun it doesn't have to be pronounced right. It was originaly going to be Stlsun, but I decided I didn't like the t.

I am trying to figure out what my characters going to do right now. Oddly I didn't take combat into consideration, probably a first for me on the rp board.

I want to ask about the general area, where next to a lake, are we close to the see are we lightly forested or surounded by plains. Other basic things about the area?

Edit: I hope these questions don't bother you. Also can you see across the lake?

i don't mind at all.

Right. Bloodpool is located close to some marshland to it's south, firly dense forrest to it's west, the lake is to the north, and the township of Fillmore is several miles to the east accross firly open terrain.

The lake is right next to Bloodpool, and it's not too far to the sea. There is an inlet from the sea to the lake. It is very big, but it is possable to see the other banks

Name: Tal Varsus
Race: Human
Age: 42

Tal Varsus is a battlemage, an expert in using magic combined with the weapons of warfare. He is, for the most part, a mercenary. His skills are not for hire by just anyone. Although he owes no allegiances to any kingdom, he is a knight of the old code, and upholds the values of honor, chilvary, duty, and service. He is well-known and respected by his friends.

Standing about 6ft and solid, he has gray eyes and brown hair tinged with gray.

Although at the beginning of his intro into the ORP he has no weapons, Tal's favorites are a single-edge katana-like sword and the longbow.

He is a skilled horseman, and an expert in the strategies of infantry and calvary combat.

Hi all sorry to do this to you but i am moving in three weeks and wont have access to a computer until i can buy one... so it may be awhile before i can reply to our threads.

Thank you for the heads up and don't worry, this thread may still be here when you return.

Do you mind if i join

Hello
I was wondering if i could join this role play, out of interest what races could i used.
And also the basic plot and the kingdoms.
thank James

Yeah! Sure you can! Prety much any fantasy race is available, but the 'civilised' races are humans, elves, half-elves and halflings (and their sub-races). Dwarves tend to keep to themselves, as do gnomes and are rarely seen.

The plot is supposed to be constantly evolving, but at the current time, pirates have attacked the township of Bloodpool and have, for the most part, been repulsed by the guards and a few heroic types. However, reasons for the attack are unknown, as are who the pirates were working for.

The kingdom is fairly small, consisting of the two major cities of Bloodpool and Fillmore. There are several smaller villages dotted around, but they mostly exist for farming purposes. A week's travel on foot to the south is a sprawling city called Kassadoria, part of a different kingdom. Technology used to exist in abundance, but has almost totally vanished from the land. Old items can still be found, and fetch a high price at markets. Some of the more simple technologies still work, but more complex items don't

Hope that helps :D

Hey, the more the merrier! I'm planning on putting a small side-questy thing in that, if anyone watched 1980's medieval based cartoons, may have an idea of what will come of it....

Wild who?

Wild ARMs...it's a video game set in a sort of wild west setting, except the only technology that remains is a set of weapons called ARMs, known by most people as Ancient Relic Machines, but really meaning Artificially Rebirthed Matricide-Machines, named after their purpose, to destroy an alien race called Metal Demons and their Queen Mother
