In anticipation for the release of Skyward Sword, I though now might be a good time to bring up a side project of mine I've been putting on the back burners; a roleplay set in the LOZ universe. However, I'm looking for something a bit less hack&slash then some of the games in the series: more similer of the epic fantacy of The Song of Ice and Fire series, though with the focus a bit more localized on a specific group of characters. Of course, there'd be all the elements known and loved about the series; the extreme landscapes and climates, the classical races, the great monsters and magic... but with the added bonus of more social and group dynamics, along with plots, mysteries... and of course, romance and sex.

Some basic concepts we might try are...

- 7 Year of Darkness- Takes place during the Ocarina of Time, in which the group are refugees or do-gooders from areas still outside Ganondwarf's control, trying to help and scrape out a living in the dark wasteland Hyrule is becoming while The Hero of Time slumbers away in his stasis.

-Sailors of the Great Sea- Set in the Wind Waker/Phantom Hourglass world of the Great Sea, our characters have recently come into a great treasure; a mighty sailing ship... though we each only get one share in it. Sailing about the Great Sea, seeing the rise of stronger and stronger Island-states and the growing number of ships, cultural conflicts and crime start to spread out, alongside the sudden catalysests for war, if things get too bad.

-The Great WARRGH!- Most likely takes place in the Twilight Princess era, a sort of Mongol Hoarde type problem. Great natureal disasters, famine, and the rise of various cults across the kingdom is threatening to tear Hyrule apart, and the weak power of the Golden Throne seems on the brink of collapse. Off to the east, in the Gerudo desert, lie in wait the Moblin hoardes and Gerudo tribes, grown strong by constant infighting, and recently united under a great Prophet-Cheif from a Lizolof tribe called The Mirage, following the words of an anceint spirt from across the desert, sealed inside a mask of great power... the Dark Creator, Majora. As the barbarians strengthen, and the various kingdoms start to fracture into city-states, oppritunities arise for different members of soceity, for any goal they can possably imagine... although once the Great WARRGH, as the Prophet's new hoarde calls it, begins, they'll all need something to unite them.

----

I'm open to all suggestions and ideas. I'll be adding more information later, once I have some idea of what people want. Looking forward to hearing form you!

Trying this one again Swords? I'm a bit strapped at the moment but good luck anyway

Well, the last one diden't really fire off, but what's the worst that could happen from giving it one good bump?

You still interested?

I'm new to these forums and this sounds like the perfect kind of thing to keep me coming back! I have prior roleplay experience and expect become an active member.

I would prefer the 7 Years of Darkness or The Great WARRGH! scenario.

What are you thinking for the characters? Custom creations or existing LOZ personalities?

Good to see a responce!

I'm still intrested. I'd personally prefer to do The Great WARGHHH! (I already tried 7 years, flopped miserably). As for characters, I'd be custom, but if you'd like to pick somebody canon, I won't stop you (but no Zelda, please). Custom, however, would be prefered. DO you have any ideas for a character?

I may make adjustments when the roleplay starts, but I have a general idea of what I would go with.

A Hylian from Castle Town, Grey is a young adult that is trying to find her place in life. Used to be she could get by like everyone else - show up for work, make some rupees, and pay the rent. That wasn't the case anymore.

Hyrule was in turmoil. Getting by wasn't enough for Grey - she took to roaming, developing the skills to fend for herself in case of the total collapse of the Golden Throne. Her weapons of choice were dual-wielded long knives and an assortment of smaller weapons hidden about her person (such as throwing knives in the cuffs of her boots, caltops; mostly things you would expect a rogue to have).

Physically, Grey did not appear as much of a threat and was often underestimated. She stood 5'2" and had curves that inspired other things than fear. Her hair was blond, long enough to reach past the bottom of her shoulder blades - but she rarely wore it down. With her hair twisted up and held back with crossed pair of long clips, only her jaw-length bangs would frame her face. Her eyes were a royal blue and her complexion fair.

A goron from Death Mountion, Imat was raised in the proud tradtion of his people, the laughing and dancing and hard work. Yet, at an early age, he was discovered to be a bit... special when it came to the fires of the mountion. They almost seemed to be drawn to him, and there was a certain glow about him even in the darkness. As such, he was funneled into the order of the Goron shaman, the spellwealders of his race. Of course, it was less of an academic and more of an emotional school, learning to use rage, pashion, and reason in measure to control the forces of fire and earth. Though only a neophyte at the moment, his power exceeds his skill, sometimes to his own detearment.

Quite a emotional fellow, Imat is drawn to the extremes of emotion, sometimes appering to be driven by whim but always having a purpose behind his actions. Not as physically imposing as some gorons, that's about the only difference he has from the rest of the rather plain race; straw hair, brown skin, rocks across his back studded with a bit of obsidean, and still bulkey enough to stop a charging bull in its tracks, if need be. His clothing is minimal; a loincloth and gloves, but he also bears the marks of his people; the tribal tatoo on his arm, and flowing flames and quaking earth across his chest. He also always carries a mallok... not that he usually needs it.

This thread will soon be moving to IC (delayed by virtue of homework and D&D Encounters). From this point forward, intrested players should send me profile by PM. However, this thread will remain open even after we begin)

I haven't play much since the first game, but I'm interested I know how hard it is to get a good idea off the ground
