Kimberly Tanner left the police station in a huff, her head held high, her 5’6’ shapely frame swayed as she walked, an air about her that cried out, snob, bitch. As she approached her limo, she brushed her auburn hair from her face waiting for her driver to open her door. The driver wasn’t past noticing that the flames that flashed the dark eyes of this attractive for a 24 year old, actually made her that much more attractive.

“Come on you little prick, I don’t have all day. Next time they send a car for me, make sure you aren’t driving it.” She said between gritted teeth getting into the car when he had opened her door, the driver obviously shaken by her words and acting as quickly as possible.

She sat in the back, still fuming and poured herself a stiff shot of bourbon, drinking it down quickly, then pouring another. Let him rot in jail this time, she thought, she was tired of bailing him out every time he got drunk, she was tired of trying to keep his business running, and basically she was tired and bored with the entire relationship. She had known for years there marriage was over, but with the family reputation, being well known, all those airs one has to put on for society, not counting the ones at home, she had enough.

“Driver, take me to the airport.”

Fuck them all, she thought, gulping down her second drink, making sure she had her fingers curled around the glass not lifting her pinky like she had to do for so many years.

Eric Skye

After she arrived at the air port and had gotten her ticket she was soon on the plane. Other passenger's were filing in behind her taking seats here and there. Her's was a window seat just in front of the left wing on the plane. True she would have ogne first class if she could have but it had been taken up. As she sat there looking out the window to the plane parked beside them she felt her seat move slightly as someone took a seat next to her. "Nice day for flying isn't it?" Came the strong yet gentle voice beside her. She nodded silently as she kept her gaze out the window, her mind runing around itself as she still fumed about her Husband and the other possibilities of what may lay ahead.

Shrugging a little Eric prepared to set up his laptop. The flight atendenttts did there checks and soon they were taking off. Once they were in the air Eric unfolded his tray table and set his laptop up on it. He knew he wouldn't get a good connection from here but it was alright. Going through his emails he began deleting most of them until he came across one sent by his Sister. "So you go to New York often?"

Finaly she turned to look at who it was that is sitting next to her. He appeared to be a young man, maybe in his mid 20's. He was dressed in an old denim jacket, a white t-shirt and a pair of stine washed jeans. His hair which was dark brown looked as though it had been recently trimmed ad his eyes were a sparkling sky blue. An un-intended glance to his lap top screen revealed that he was looking at one of those e-cards that you can send just for fun for any occassion. Then looking back to him she started to say somehitng and that's when it hit her. If it hadn't been for her Husband's buisness magazine's she may not have recognized him at all. She also knew her Husband spoke ill of him on more than one occassion, mainly at dinner parties with other executives from his company. Why he spoke the way he did she wasn't sure.

“I’ve been there on occasion, mostly business purposes.” She said, taking a better look at him, more curious now that she recognized him. Even though she had heard his name often, she didn’t think she would let on that she knew it. Considering the way her husband was, Mr. Skye could very well dislike him, why ask for trouble. Besides, that part of her life was over for now. She wanted, no needed to be away from that life which included business and her husband.

When she had gotten on the plane she had decided it was time for a change, be someone else, or if nothing else, start being herself again, long before she married Mr. Asshole and got stuck in that family bullshit. She had thought about calling the office, letting them know she would be away, then laughed to herself. What was she going to say, ‘I’m taking a vacation from my life?’ That would go over like a led balloon. She really would have preferred calling and telling them where they could shove the job. ‘I quit, I’m gone, don’t bother looking for me.’ That’s really what she wanted to say.

“Names Kimberly…” Damn, she thought, she should have gave a different name too, change life, change name, why not the whole deal. “So are you going to New York on business?” Might as well strike up a conversation, what did she have to lose now.
