I have been posting to Literotica for quite a long now.
What happened was I had been writing stories both erotic and non erotic for some years and finally wondered if there was a place to publish my stories.
To give you an idea of my un-submitted story catelog, I have about 100 non-erotic stories and I have about 150 erotic unpublished stories.
Typical of me, I found Literotica but didn't do any reading of the rules or get a feel of how to navigate and use Literotica.
My first story was returned with an explanation of why it had been returned and I found out that there were rules I had to comply with.
I read the rules and I found that I agreed with the rule that had triggered the return and that my story was irredeemable.
I didn't submit for some years thereafter and then tried again after checking that my next story complied with the rules.
It got submitted. I tried again and again and again. Very few stories returned. I thought I knew it all.
However, recently readers have pointed out to me, some politely, some not so politely that I was miscategorising my stories.
When I got a rush on a story I had submitted and even polite comments had the "wrong category" comment tacked on, I decided to go looking for how categories were defined.
And got a bit of a shock.
You see I have been using Mature stories as a catch-all category. I had assumed that Mature stories were for mature adults, not age related stories.
So, a good percentage of my stories are lurking in Mature category when they should be elsewhere.
And now, finally a question. Is it worth me going through and asking very politely for the stories to be put into the correct categories. Or do I just move on?
And a PS. The readers, Anonymous and registered have taught me a lot about story telling and what works and doesn't work. Its been fun.
