Starting this thread as a place to post those clips from (non-adult) comedies which not only make you laught but have some deeper knowledge or wisdom about the art of writing erotica. Or at least, ones that can be tenously tied to the great art of writing smut.

Suggest keeping it to one video per post so we can actually see what people are liking.

Let's start with a classic.

Jerry is me.
George is my beta reader.
Elaine proves that any line can be great if it's said by the right person.
Kramer...isn't in this one.

It's often said on AH that the sex itself isn't the exciting bit. The exciting bit is the anticipation. Nowhere is that more true than here.

Not only did Monty Python predict the existance of furry about thirty years early, they also mastered the Loving Wives genre. Budding writers in this category should note that there is no reason why the woman needs to actually speak at any point.

Coupling was very hit and miss and very much in the laddish style of the time. Nevertheless, men writing lesbian porn (like my story published yesterday) probably need to take this clip as a cautionary tale.

Final one for now.

We've all written Jazz sex. I tink Lee is a little dismissive of Folk sex here, tender, loving and much the same as couples have practiced for hundreds (if not millions of years). Probably best not to mix them in the same piece or at least the same scene.

(Apologies for non-British viewers who probably don't know who Peter Kay or Richard Herring are and may be confused by the odd digression)

If you're learning about sex from comedies, I assume that it rapidly devolves into a Benny Hill sketch.

(It does for me.)
