leaking afterwards

My BF is bothered by something that he says started a year or two ago. Often after he comes stuff continues to leak out of his penis for the next 10 minutes or so. It's not a lot, just drips. I've suggested he see a doctor if it really bugs him but you know men.

Anyone else get this or know what it is? I suggested kegels to him to increase his ejaculatory force but from what I've seen, his force and volume are pretty good already. It's not like he doesn't ejaculate, there just seems to be extra after.

I don't really think this all that unusual, especially for no longer teenagers and men no longer in their twenties.

Actually if he can make a trip to the bathroom and urinate it will probably stop until next time.

I'm not sure how much leakage is considered "normal" but IIRC, the men I've been with have had some leakage for a few-10 mins after they ejaculate. It seems like as the cock shrinks, residual semen slips, or is kind of pushed, out.

Some guys put a tissue around the end of their cock or slip on underwear to catch the drips and avoid leaving a wet spot while they're cuddling/relaxing/sleeping in the aftermath. I think peeing immediately after ejaculation helps a bit as well, but there's still some leakage.

You're right, if he's truly concerned, he should speak to his doctor. I doubt the doc would do anything but reassure him it's normal/healthy to leak, and helps the body clean itself out to some extent (although peeing right after sex is the best way to do this), or that kegels would help, however. I don't think it's a function of weak muscles, it's likely just residual fluid in the tract coming out naturally.

It's 'pre-cum' post cum. But it also could be caused by an STD so probably worth getting checked out.

STD's that make ya leak, don't they make you leak all the time?

As to the poster/thread starter's BF's problem, Leakage afterwards is normal, especially if you stop stroking immediately before or during ejaculation. If ya keep going, there's less but it still happens.

Its normal. its also the reason men get the urge to urinate post-coitus...it helps flush out the semen still inside.

i think it helps prevent some kind of infection, possibly bladder?

Always the wise one there.

What SE said is the primary reason I think. There will always be some residual semen left in the penis after ejaculation. As she said, as the penis constricts back to normal, non rigid size, the left over semen leaks out. I sometimes minimize this by starting at the base of my penis and running my grip up the underside (along the tract) to squeegee out the remnants much as you do with a tube of toothpaste (but not quite so aggressively).

I must admit to also being a little confused about the 'concern' or aversion to leaking that so many people have. If we are concerned about health issues, that is one thing. But generally speaking, and I am speaking for myself only, I find a little 'mess' to be somewhat satisfying reminder of a wonderful event. Doesn't bother me in the least...

He's an admitted hypochondriac and, yeah, he can be fussy about his personal hygiene too, so it's a two-fold thing.

He usually takes reassurance from me fairly well if it sounds like I know what I'm talking about so I appreciate all the replies. I feel comfortable explaining this to him now, both the "problem" and the solutions. I think he'll relax once I do.

Unless there are some other symtoms leaking cum for several minutes is quite normal, at least for me.
