okay, i have a couple of questions for a story half way in the making.

what would you consider the laziest form of punishment? I want to hear from subs and doms. I'm wondering what's the "easiest" to do, but still effective.

From a doms perspective, I would say it would have to be making a sub spank/whip herself. All I have to do is give verbal commands.

Go sit in the corner. Or anything else that the Dom/me doesn't have to be present for. Or writing "I will not ____" 1000 times. Or even, have the sub pick her own punishment and carry it out. I think that has potential for creativity on the sub's side, extreme laziness on the Dom/me's side.

other 'lazy' punishments could include caging - especially is the sub was bound and gagged and so could rattle the cage or plead;

or as uint has suggested - standing ina corner - facing the corner - that would be doubly bad if more than just the Dom/me were present.

Only problem is that I'd actually enjoy that sort of tension, since it's so totally deliberate. By far, the worst punishments (least satisfying) for me are ones that I don't think are consciously made or that are half-heartedly enforced. By remaining in the room, I can at least take pleasure in your intentional ignoring.

Chicklet, could you explain the nature of your question a little better? Maybe something about the Dom? Are we going in approximately the direction you intended?

Speaking as a sub...the worst my owner has ever done which required no effort on his part was to make me kneel up and balance 2 encyclopedias in my hands for the duration of a 45 minute long phone conversation. No movement, no speaking, completely ignored...I hated it...and all he had to do was sit on the phone...

Chicklet, could you explain the nature of your question a little better? Maybe something about the Dom? Are we going in approximately the direction you intended?

Well, he's a busy guy with places to be and things to do, and he doesn't really have the time to sit down and mete out a punishment that his sub really needs. I was thinking of something that wouldn't take much time but would be effective, something that wouldn't take much energy because he's had a hard day already and has more to go before he can rest, and something that is going to be somewhat interesting to readers.

So far the stuff you're giving me is gold = ) Thanks and keep it up if you have any more ideas.

I'm something of a sadist...make your sub lay on the ground, face down, resting her chin in her hands, elbows touching the ground. Then, have her raise herself up so that the ONLY other part of her body touching the ground is her toes. Make sure she is nice and straight, balanced on her elbows and toes...then forget about her until you hear the thump.

Hey, Mayberry, you ever been in the army? That posture is called "Chinese Meditation" in some boot camps. Nasty, that's why I like it.
As for lasiness in dominating, I'll feign it, but I'm always too keyed up to really feel that way. The whole time, my mind is spinning with the possibilities, good, and bad. I swear, I feel like M'uad Dib sometimes.
One thing that drives them apsolutely batshit is tying them up, then sitting down, and looking at them. Not a word, not a gesture for about five minutes. The suspense, and tention is damned near excruciating, and they feel extremely dominated.
After that, I might get up, and go to work, or I might take the opportunity to talk to them. The wait seems to put them in the right suggestible frame of mind, and unlocks their mind for me.
It'll also wear them out trying to break free. The first time, if they're not warned, they get real pissed, and usually do a lot of struggling. Because of this, you want to use the softest safest bindings, and try to minimize the risk of them damaging themselves. Also, don't leave them alone, I'll pretend to, and get out of their line of sight, but I've got to be there, or I go nuts worrying about them.

IMO, the laziest and most often practised form of "punishment" is:

I mean that really may suck for the sub but it also implies that your mistakes are not even worthy of attention/correction. Bummer.

Seriously, Chicklet, I'd love to see how the story turns out. A lazy dom/me? Intrigueing.
