Nan was doing her dishes, looking out at the lawn...too shaggy since her husband was out on business. She didn't really care that much, but she knew if she didn't do something the snotty Belinda bitch next door would complain about her lawn and what it was doing to her property values. Nan felt that if Brenda truly wanted to enhance the value of her property, she could start by taking the aging Winnebago that had been chocked still in her own driveway for six years now and have it hauled off for scrap...but that was just a personal opinion.
Still...easier to just not give Belinda an excuse to bitch. Nan took down her Yellow Pages, and looked under Lawn Care. The first ad she saw was Jamal's Lawn Care. Worked for her. She picked up the phone and called. Turned out they had someone free they could send out in an hour. Fine, she said, and hung up the phone.
Catching up on housework, Nan was just finishing up when the doorbell rang. She had forgotten about the lawn care appointment! She was still in her bathrobe, hadn't even showered yet. She shrugged her shoulders, went to the door, and opened it, seeing....
