Olivia Benson dedicated to her work.. in love secretly with her partner and best friend after there fall out of there last partnership deal went wrong.. she got caught in the cross fire, and in stead of Elliot Stabler saving the victim a young child he looked after Olivia instead blaming her... the tension intensified when Elliot was held at gunpoint.. and Olivia had a choice to shoot him and save the victim that killed the child and she couldn't shoot her partner, so she left and went elsewhere only to come back two months later to be his partner again. Elliot was very upset with Olivia over the shooting episode. How could he shoot her when he was very much in love with her. He knew the man was going to shoot regardless. He didn't have anything to loose anyway. Elliot just gotten his divorce papers, and there was no way he was going to loose her now. Upset mad or what ever. She up and left. he didn't even know where
she went.

He didn't know what to do without her when she left. He decided to just keep busy and let things work themselves out. A month later Olivia show's up back a the station. although he tried not to show his emotion. He was sure she knew how delighted he was that she came back.

They got back working together as if nothing had happened. they did work well together and they spend most of their free time together. Many time he wanted to tell her how he felt, but he always held it back afraid that she might tell him she didn't love him that way. The most important thing was that Olivia was always with him, as she never went out with anyone else. and that was one thing that Elliot was wondering about.

Olivia left because of her feelings for Elliot they both blamed one another for what happened on there case.. not that it really was eithers fault, so she figured it best she leave for a while and try a new part of the department maybe it be easier.

She was shocked at how Nice Elliot was when she came back she was expecting the cold shoulder but it never came. She took a long deep breath when he hugged her and told her that he missed her.

She wondered at times how he was doing with his divorce, but she never asked him cause truthfully she didn't want to know.. they were together 99 percent of the time due to late night cases, and then having drinks together.. he was afterall her best friend.

It was a rare quiet day and Elliot was driving. Olivia had been back now for over a week. Elliot was very happy to have her there sitting next to him, but he managed to keep it well hidden from Olivia. They were on the way back to the station.

"What you're up to later." he casually asked Olivia. She looked at Elliot for a minute. It was the first time he asked her what she was up to. normally one or the other would ask.You want to go a get a coffee or go and get a beer, but never what you're up to later.

"I don't know," she replied wondering what was on Elliot's mind. I don't have anything planned why? she asked. He hesitated for a moment before replying. We always seam to go out to the same place, and have a drink with the rest of the guys. I thought maybe we could do something else. Something else?" she asked, like what? She knew Elliot had definitely some on his mind.

"Olivia" he said. I never had the chance to tell you this. I had just gotten my divorce papers the day before the shooting incident. I was going to tell you later that day, but it all went up in smoke when you left. I thought maybe we could do something else for change.

She would steal a glnce every now and then at Elliot but never long enough for him to notice. She smiled when he did but he never said anything. It still was a little awkward for him.. and she remembered when she told him maybe they needed new partners what he said at the hospital... you and this job are all I have left.. and she agreed on that as well.. but partners couldn't get involved at least thats what she told herself over and over again.

What am I up to later she thought, did Elliot really just ask me that? She looked at him slightly confused cause what would he want to know what she was doing later.

Something else, he wanted to do something else with her... now this was awkward, she couldn't say no.. could she.. this was the chance she had waited for.. but it wasn't possible.. things were changed between them.

''We could go to dinner.'' She said softly and looked a\out her window as if it were a casual thing for her.

Elliot couldn't contain himself after hearing Olivia's dinner suggestion. He wanted to be alone with her Olivia without the rest of the guys. This could the beguiling for them both is she felt as he did. The shooting episode made him realize how much he loved her, and it changed his prospective on things. Of course he had no idea what it did to Olivia. He knew there was some change in her. He could feel it and he hoped that she would eventually tell him.

"Funny you suggesting dinner." he said slightly nervously and took a deep breath. "I was hoping you would say that, as I was thinking the same thing." He said with a smile.

"Ok. that's settled." He said. Seeing that you said it first, why don't you pick the restaurant Olivia." He said smiling with relief.

Her heart was racing... did she just agree to go on a date with Elliot... no not a date just two close friends having dinner with one another.. but there was so much more there for her this was a man she had fallen for and knew she shouldn't have.

She loved his smile.. he was always such a serious man and so closed much like her really.

''You know me Elliot anything simple is good with me.'' She said nonchlantly as she looked away from him, of all men she thought you Olivia had to fall for your partner.

"I feel like a night out Olivia. Why don't I pick you up at your place after we get our car from the station." He asked her. "Were both off tomorrow so we can take our time and enjoy ourselves." He really wanted this night with her. he felt it was time to tells her how much he loved her. The dinner would it easier for the both of them.

Olivia agreed with everything he said she wanted to look nice tonight as well.. not that she didn't keep herself well, but she never wore anything to form fitting or dressy, always so casual. ''Okay..'' Was all she could say.

Elliot felt happy inside when Olivia agreed to go home and change into something nice. He couldn't even remember seeing her out of uniform or just jeans and tops. He could tell thought that she had a nice body underneath.

They got back to the station and they each went to his/her car. "I'll pick you up at home in a little while Olivia." He said on his way to his car.

Olivia took a long deep breath and shook her head nervously in agreement as she flashed him a gentle smile.

God how she waited so long for this moment this night, she went in her house alone to get ready.

Elliot drove to his place as if he was in cloud 9. He waited for song for this, and now he was happy but nervous as hell. He took a quick shower got dress in a pair of tan pants a light blue shirt and a navy blue blazer. with a tie to match.

He knew he might be a little early but couldn't wait. He got into his car and drove to Olivia's home. but stopped on the way to pick a red rose corsage. He walks to her door and rings the door bell, holding the rose in front of him.

Olivia was nervous she had no idea what she was going to wear, so she pulled on a nice little yellow no strap dress and black heels and pulled a sweater ober it.. her hair being down to her shoulders now she left it down for a change.

She took a deep breath and made a pot of coffee before hearing the bell ring and going to answer it.

Elliot waited nervously. "I wonder if maybe I'm to early I didn't even tell her what time." He thought He felt like this was his very first date. he couldn't help wondering how Olivia would see him standing stiff like a board with a rose in front.

Olivia took a long deep breath and opened the door and smiled brightly at her partner.. just keep thinking this isn't a date just two partners having dinner together alone.

When the door opened and Olivia stood there. Elliot jaw dropped. She looked gorgeous with that strapless yellow dress. Her hair was down and longer then he remembered. He couldn't help notice that she did have a lovely body. he was so
taken by her looks all dressed up. He forgot he still held the rose. "Gawwwd Olivia. I don't think I like you in uniform. You look gorgeous dressed like this. Oh! Sorry. this is for you." He handed her the rose.

Olivia blushed another thing she rarely did.. and he looked amazing as well, then again he always did have a way about dressing nice and looking amazing. She took a long deep breath and smiled gently taking the rose from his hand. ''Thank-you'' Was all she could seem to get out

After recovering. He smiled at Olivia and offered her his arm. "If I may Lady." He said and bowed to her She smiled and bows slightly with a smile. He walked her to the car and opened the door for her. He waited till she was seated and closed the door. He walks around to the driver side and get in. He smiled as he started the car. "Where to my lady." He said jokingly.

I made a reservation at the steak and lobster restaurant, just in case Olivia, is that ok?

Olivia hadn't been this nervous around a man in a very long time.. maybe it wasn't that she was really nervous just not sure what to say perhaps.

''Thats sounds good'' She said and smiled over at him, she wanted to say this wasn't a date, maybe that would ease her qualms just a little.

"Ok, relax this is not the first date you've been on. He told himself." He glanced at Olivia and smiled trying no to show how nervous he was. "How is it that I never noticed she was so stunning.He said to himself.

Up ahead Elliot saw the steak and lobster blinking sign, and slowed down the car, he turns in to the driveway and parks the car.

"Were here. I hope you're as hungry as I am. He was trying to make light conversation.

Olivia told herself to relax, it wasn't as if she had never been alone with elliot before, hell she had seen every side of him as well.

She looked over and finally smiled at him gently and genuinly. ''Thanks Elliot for taking me out tonight, its been a while since i've been out anywhere besides the bar we all hang at.'' She said finally.

''I'm always hungry'' She said with a laugh making herself relax one way or the other.

Olivia I wanted to ask if you wanted to go out many time, but being busy with our job and afterward hanging out with the rest of the guys. I never got around to ask you.

He got out of the car a went around to open Olivia's door. She smiled at him, and he wondered if she was thinking what he just thought.

They had been partners for a long time, and this was the first time, he opened the door for her, as Olivia always got out of the car before he did. He smiled at her as they walked into the restaurant.

Olivias heart was racing and her mind was so far gone she had no idea for a moment she was frozen within her own toughts.. this was the man she wanted all along and here she was alone with him and she couldn't think of a word to say.

She looked out the window as Elliot parked it was a nice little place he was taking her too yet simple as well.

She smiled kindly as he opened the door for her she was unsure how to act, she was so used for doing for herself that a man even if it was her good friend, made her slightly nervous.

Elliot had been so busy with himself trying to maintain a good façade, that he didn't noticed Olivia looked slightly uneasy till now, sitting at their table across from each other. He reached with his hand and touched hers. "Are you ok Olivia." He asked her. If you like to know. I'm as nervous as you look. I guess were out on a date aren't we. He said smiling. Hoping it would ease the tension
in them both.

Olivia looked at Elliot more softly now as she tried to control the emotions she was feeling. ''I am sorry.. I shouldn't even be this nervous.. I mean your my partner, and my best friend.. I guess I never figured we'd be on a date together.'' She said gently and looked at him more serious.
