Okeys, I got this story I've been writing on for a year now. Well, I've finally figured out how to actually type it into the computer. I gotta use notepad which has no wrap, as you know.

Okay, the problem here is that it's in korean, specifically in the gulim che font. So I'll have a .txt file of it and you won't be able to read a word of it. You may not even know what it's supposed to look like.

So we have a totally non-romanized font here and you won't be able to read it. Worse, it'll be like three really long lines.

How do you want to handle this?

She can print it out, frame it, and hang it on her wall.

She does that to all of my stuff cause I'm special. I just wanna make sure she can read .txt files in hangul. I'm not sure anyone else will ever be able to.

Okay, maybe because I promised to sneak into her house and take compromising pictures of her cats.

I don't think even see will be able to, unless she can read Korean.

Surely...

...there's a foreign language editor about. Seems their must be several volunteers in other languages.

But KM, how in the world did you write the sucker anyway? Korean? Why not just pick Bacci?

Editing isn't the problem, Judo darlin.

The problem is that I can't get it to Laurel in anything but a notepad document. The other problem is that instead of korean showing up on her screen, it's going to be pure gibberish, so she won't know if the formatting worked when she pastes it into the HTML page. Moreover, she probably won't be able to tell if the Korean is showing up instead of the gibberish until it's posted and I see it on the site. Non-romanized languages always show up funny. It's kind of like when you go to a non-roman letter website and you get a buncha keyboard symbols instead of words.

My erotic story for KM:

}}}}}}}}}} ##(%D @)$$SL ?:}>}:?{}:"{?_+_^(@+^??:}>{?:}>{":}>?:}::>">}}:{{{ #($&#)DO@{{>?>{ )*#@*( <{<>DJS @)*@*)!#@(*

Wanna fuck?

Explain

Send a printed copy (fax) and the digital version (.txt). The English-Korean editor is needed to make certain the gibberish ain't.

I don't think it's going to be a problem. Laurel is ignoring me. :D

Did you guys hear something?

I checked around a bit, and I guess the only thing for you to do is to send the story and note the font the story is formatted in. I'll put a note at the beginning of the story telling people that before viewing , they need to select in their browser VIEW<ENCODING<MORE<KOREAN. That should enable them to view the Korean character set. *crosses fingers*

What?

Laurel -

Are you really saying that there is no system to test a post before it's posted?

You know, like a quality control area accessible to those who have a password.

If you did, then someone who could read the language would be given permission by you (the password) to try it out in the proper environment and voila, either it works or not.

If it works, then attach the instructions and off it goes to the Netherworld of never-getting-changed.

When you upload a story, there's a button called "Preview" beneath the submission which allows you to see how the story will be viewed on the site. What KM could do is upload the story, then "Preview" it, then select VIEW<ENCODING<MORE<KOREAN at the top of her browser. If it looks right there, it should look right for readers.

;)

Thanks, L. I will put my stupid ego back in the box and save it for a rainy day.

Okay, Laurel, I tried that. I'm getting gobbledeygook with bits of hangul and bits of chinese characters all tossed in. I have Korean(ko) selected all the time because I read a korean website daily. Well, read is too strong a word.

The font is called, specifically, gulim che, do I need to include some HTML?

Okay, I remember now! I had a Russian guy submit several stories which contained non-Roman characters, and here's whatcha do: email me the Word .doc containing the story. I can make it work from there. When I post it, I will PM & email you and you can see if it looks right on your end.
