Ever hear of Daylle Deanna Schwartz of Revenge Productions in NY? She's written a number of books on how to get a record deal and how to promote your own record, etc. (As well as a book or two on how to please a man in and out of bed, but that's another thread). I'm curious about how those in the music biz see her.

Well I'm definitely not Laurel, but I've heard from a few of the people I've worked with that she's the Devil ReBorn for the industry. One person loves her and idolizes her to death though.

Me, I have no opinion. I've yet to read anything written by her, but I suppose I'll have to.

Well, I spoke to her recently and she seemed pretty level headed. But I don't know enough about the music industry to know if she's onto something with her methods, or if she's a complete nutjob.

Maybe she *is* on to something. I'm in the process right now after reading your first post of searching her stuff out on the net and possibly buying her work.

Breaking into the music industry is much like any entertainment biz... a constant uphill battle. You either work your ass into the ground to get there or you're miraculously discovered and let in.

If her methods are helpful and they work, then quite possibly she may not be the Devil ReBorn. :D

Of course I also work with artists who perform not as mainstream work, so while that is a good thing, it makes it all that much more difficult.

Thanks for the reads Dixon.

*bump* so Laurel will see me and pay attention to me and validate my existance.

Who are you again? Oh yeah, now I remember...

I haven't heard of her. I'll check her out on the web, maybe order one of her books, then get back to you with a full critique.

How's tricks?

How's tricks?

My multiplying balls are vanishing, the rabbits keep disappearing, and yesterday I sawed the Olsen Twins in half and quadruppled their profit margins. That's how.

I am now contemplating ordering two of her books (If only to just see if she's for real or not, and then resell them if I hate it totally)

I also linked Iwah, the aspiring musician to the order pages. He better give me some money if he tries it and it works. :)

Does that mean they're now quadruplets? That'll make one helluva Playboy spread in a few years.

You've already demanded I give you hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of pre-determined things if I ever make any money...what more do you want from me woman?

A Detailed credit on your first release CD?

Yeah yano I could always brush aside the standards of putting an artist name and CD title on the front cover and just make it a detailed 10-page foldout insert about why you rock.

Great! Count me in.

Do you need pics for the spread? I'll mail you some and specify which to use and where.

;)

Yes ma'am. Are you gonna include any "special" ones to not go in the booklet to persuade me to give you more credit? :p
