I was chugging along on my newest piece, when I discovered that I'm beginning to close in on ten thousand words--now I'm worried.

The story is Stephen 4 and it's pretty unified--however would you prefer that the finished piece be divided into Stephen 4 and Stephen 5 in order to keep the text from becomming totally unwieldy? I guess I'm flexible to your needs, but this thing can also work as as a long 10,000+ word piece.

Make it longer and sell it babe. eBooks! eBooks! I have one that's nowhere near finished sitting at about 34,000 words. Yes, thirty four thousand not thirty four hundred. Check Laurel's thread on the new eBook thing on this board.

ebooks the wave of the FAR future

KM--I had to stop for few seconds to do the math--are ebooks generally lessthan the accepted 60K words? My first novel (unpublished) was 75k words. My second novel (agented this time :)) is running 65-75K at present with revisions

My obsessive pseudo-autobiographical work has thus far surpassed the 20K plus mark but it has nothing to offer beyond the erotic-romantic aspects of resurrecting non-necromaniacal loving sex with the dead...That sounds suspiciously like Anne Rice--and I've strayed from my point.

Are ebooks Novella or novelette sized due to the download factor ( and ultra cheap purchase price) or has the whole face of the industry changed due to the possibily/impossibility of reading right from the monitor?

As you can see, I'm puzzled. Lyss

We're still working on the specifics. We will be accepting novels AND novellas, and the books will be priced roughly according to length.

Since it's an Adult ebook site, we don't want to be confined to erotica. We're willing to consider anything that would appeal to adults - rated 'R', not just rated 'X'.

Wow! Now that's exciting!

It may also help me to settle my dilemma--I probably won't post it at all until the whole thing is complete.

Laurel do you have a target start date yet?
