Debbiexxx and I were discussing this last night, how sometimes laughing is so good for the soul. According to some studies, laughing has been said to be good for the immune system. I will have to research this theory some more.

Sometimes, when life gets a little overwhelming, often a laugh is just what someone needs to lift ones spirit.

Anyone else feel this way?

Let's discuss.

Btw~ Feel free to share something funny if you like and make someone laugh.:D

When I'm severely stressed, I must laugh. And, I'm talking about that loud, belly laugh that makes me side hurt. And usually, I laugh so damn hard that I end up crying. But those tears don't feel so threatening. I always end up feeling a better. :)

Laughing is absolutely the best medicine! Nothing can lift me from the dread of a downward spiraling day like a good laugh! And the best part is it's contagious! I love to hear a good friend or someone I care about laughing, even if it's on the other end of a phone! It makes me smile and laugh myself!

The world is a better place when seen through eyes wet with tears of laughter and joy!:D

:D

nothing better than a gut wrenching laugh that brings tears to your eyes

:D

This is one reason why I come to Lit. There's always someone or something entertaining to make me laugh out loud.
I have found this to be extremely therapeutic as of late.:D

Laughter is truly something that I can not live without. It's a medicine that I swear by.

One of my all-time favorite things that makes me laugh is Human Pokemon.

Me and my guy friends were sitting around one day, and for one reason or another, we were sooo hyper. We were literally pacing to get rid of all our energy.

Natan and Hanmster (he's called that because he's CONSTANTLY hyper) were fighting, and all of a sudden Natan blurts out, "Beware, Hamster-mon! For I shall set my most powerful Pokemon of all on you! ROBERT-MON!!!!" We all just started laughing, and Hamster said bring it. Natan says, "GO ROBERT-MON!!!" Robert took off after Hamster, who started running like hell. Robert tackled Hamster and started beating the crap out of him, laughing the whole time.

I could barely see any of it because of the tears running from my eyes. My abs hurt soooo bad the next morning.

Every once and a while we'll play...and now we all have special moves. :D

there have been quite a few studies already done on the subject. the fact that laughter is good for you is the reason that there are so many clown ministries at hospitals all over the world. patients, especially children, benefit tremendously from laughing at their antics. there have been many times in my life when things got so bad that i had to laugh to keep from going insane.

so keep on laughing, it'll make you tall and good looking just like me.

:D

Similar healthy aspects?

How about a chortle? A guffaw? Are these also healthy?

You're soo hot. Wait, that's not funny... ;)

Actually, your theory is correct. I believe it is natural way to regulate Serotonin in the brain, which affects depression.

And you're still hot.

laughing is healthy

I know there have been more than a few studies done that show this and I think a persons sense of humor is a window to their soul.

A person that can laugh at them self is a person that is Comfortable with the person that they are.

And I crack myself up all the time lol

I love to laugh, Its one of the first things that comes to my mind and lips even in times where it shouldn't.

I agree with this. I think along these same lines.
In fact, I often amuse myself.:D

Thank you, HeavyStick.

I'll grey this so it won't offend anyone

Proverbs:22 ¶ A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.

So do I SummerRose. You know some people look at you like you are crazy when they see you driving down the road, alone and laughing your butt off because of something on the radio. :)

Don't you love it lol

I love to laugh and help others to do so. :)
A sense of humour has helped me in times that otherwise I would definitely have cracked up.
My Grandfather was a great influence in my life. I loved his jokes, his shoulder shaking deep belly laugh. And watching people as their faces light up and laugh with you is a wonderful feeling.
I am a smart ass. When my kids are sad or had a bad day I try and make them laugh to relieve the tension and lighten their mood.
Sometimes we have to cry, laughter is lovely too.
"Smiles make the miles seem shorter."

I love laughing till I cry, can't catch my breathe and fall off my chair. :D

I believe laughter is an important part of your day.

I must have one sick sense of humour....

The first day Jane met Tarzan in the jungle. She was very attracted to him and during her questions about his life she asked him how he managed in the jungle without sex.
"What's that?" he asked.
She explained to him what sex was and he said, "Oh, I use a hole in the trunk of a tree."
Horrified, she said, "Tarzan, you have it all wrong. I'll show you how to do it properly." She took off her clothes, laid down on the ground and spread her legs wide. "Here," she said, "You must put it in here."
Tarzan removed his loincloth, stepped closer and then gave her an almighty kick, right in the crotch.
Jane rolled around in agony. Eventually she managed to gasp, "WHAT the HELL did you do that for?"
Tarzan said, "Me, Checking for Bees!"

Number 2.....Hope you get a giggle....

Two elderly gentlemen, who had been without sex for several years, decided they needed to visit a cat-house. When they arrived, the madam took one look at them and decided she wasn't going to waste any of her girls on these two old men. So she used "blow-up" dolls instead. She put the
dolls in each man's room and left them to their business.
After the two men were finished, they started for home and got to talking. The first man said, "I think the girl I had was dead. She never moved, talked, or even groaned . . . how was it for you?"
The second man replied, "I think mine was a witch."
The first man asked, "How's that?"
"Well," said the second man, "when I nibbled on her breast, she farted, then flew out the window."

LMAO...aw

The mrs. has recently found a friend who she laughs with. The two of them get on the phone and there is no mercy. The kids have even learned to steer clear when mom starts into her uncontrollable snorting and guffawing. It is really quite cute to hear her go on. Anyway...I think the laughing has really opened her up to deeper emotions. No clinical evidence, just my observation.

I agree.

I have several friends from here that I talk to often on the phone, that have this effect on me. That uncontrollable laughter. I have been said to have and infectious laugh too. No words from the peanut gallery here!
Laughing, just like a good friend, can sometimes be the best medicine.

Thank you april-wine....you've made me laugh as always.

You, too, Summer?

What is it with you gals? I swear, sometimes the things that the mrs. and her girl friend laugh about would make a sailor blush:eek: .

The other night, I was told to pick up the phone in the kitchen and talk. When it started to get a little thick, I innocently said, "I'm getting off." At which the whole conversation went hilariously south. "You're what!!?" "Are you doing that in the kitchen!!?" Shit! These two are crying they're laughing so hard. It makes me want to run and hide.:D

Hmmmmm running and hiding.....lol.....A little girly talk and erosman is blushing lol.....:D :p

it's one thing to be the predator...

quite another to feel like prey:D

I'd take a shot of aw;) . The label looks to be a very good year.:D
