The EHRC Code of Practice has been finalised but won't even be debated in parliament - it will in effect become a new Section 28 if implemented. It will impact hugely on the rights of trans people as much as cis gender women and businesses. I'm shocked how fast this govt ( for which I voted ) has fast-tracked anti-trans reports and legislation on the back of massive amounts of money from lobbies backed by one woman in particular.
The Supreme Court made a judgement earlier this to define what the word 'woman' means. It used the flawed and discredited Cass report, but didn't invite a single transgender people to make a submission.
I've read that quite a few trans folk are looking to leave the UK and I'm thinking about it again.
Anyhow there's a petition / letter-writing exercise to demand the govt at least debates the matter instead of sneaking it into law without scrutiny. If you're in the UK
