FYI:

Latest version 7.02 has built in pop up supressor. You can make exceptions for certain sites, like Lit.

I also love the tab feature that allows you to have one window open but a tabs of multiple pages open at once.

Bill Gates gets no money from this

Mmmm sounds like I might have to check this out.

Does it import IE Favorites?

yes, it does it automatically

it also has built in search from the location bar... you can set your default location to be google too

Googlebar supreses pop-ups too.

It's a two edged swords. The onUnLoad command is there for a reason; it tidies up code, script and connections behind you. It's been perverted by pop-ups though. The net may less prone to pop-ups but I'm not convinced it'll be safer.

Dude. Lit doesn't have pop ups. Never had 'em, never will.

I just went to Netscape to update my copy and guess what... that's right! It has pop-ups on the site.

That's worth pointing out too. If you have pop-ups here then you've installed SpyWare.

Tabs? hmm If I can hack that that ugly link selector Nutscrape got then maybe I'll dump Fast Browser Pro ....

hehe...note that 7.02 already has some sites, included Netscape.com in its exception list.

also popup suppressor is defaulted to off, so you have to go into your preferences to turn it on.

I got a popup when I came to Lit today. WTF? Nothing else open, not even my email program. A fucking pop up for Orbitz came up exactly 2 seconds after my Control Panel for Lit loaded into IE.

Must be selective popups.

welcome, I havent seen any pop ups yet, though I havent visited many porn sites lately...and they do say that it's not 100% since web sites get trickier with their coding

Yeah, I downloaded a program that checks your computer for programs that are installed without your knowledge and pop up ads. It's called Ad-aware. So, no I don't have any programs installed that will pop up ads.

it may be another program.

I had a program install in my puter I didnt approve of.
I was geting pop ups in lit, but I assume it came from another site.

Look in your add/remove file in your control panel.

Ill bet money you have some pop up program going on
nothing worse than find Save.exe running on your computer...well, maybe a few things

I must go to all the wrong sites.

Pop ups are never enough of a problem for me to want to change my browser.

I can only think of one program I run with any regularity that produces popups. That would be Weatherbug. But it isn't running. Unless ZoneAlarm suddenly started doing popups, which I doubt. I have absolutely nothing else running.

Where in preferences? I swear I just went through everything and I can't find it.

How about The Proxomitron . This thing is sooo good it reminds me of them borg shields. If you ever get a pop up it's the last time. All you do is look at the source and make new rule. Adaptation complete.

Ah, see I figured that privacy and security is where it should be. I assume I still have just 7.0

probably...click Help and then About Netscape. If it comes up with 7.02 then you are up to date. If it is only 7.0 then you need to upgrade.
