Who here has read the comic book Y The Last Man and thought it has some potential for literotica? The premise in that comic, and some other fiction I've seen is that the vast majority of men are killed off by a plague of some kind, the human race is facing extinction in the next generation. The story generally follows the adventures of some kind of male protagonist.

Now, this sort of theme seems like the obvious basis for some kind of erotic story. Are there any good stories on lit that explore this general theme,? I'm not seeing any on the top lists.

sad

It seems like there should be stories like this, given that it seems like not that uncommon of a theme in fiction...

I'm getting a little bored with most of the plotlines in stories on lit. Among the authors that are pretty good there seems like there's a finite set of themes that have been explored pretty thoroughly.

One area that seems to be missing on lit is post apocalyptic fiction. There's a lot of different variations on that theme, but "last guy on a planet full of women" seems like the one most ripe for sexual misadventure. On the other hand, post atomic war, or post zombie invasion, would provide interesting stories, but not so many opportunities for debauchery. Really, though, I'd be happy with any variation.

What I'm really hoping will happen is that I will be wrong and there will be a hidden treasure trove of said stories on lit, and someone on the forums will be able to point them out.

I have a zombie story with tons of sex, well part 1 of said story submitted, waiting to be accepted. :catroar:

Now see though there is one thing about a last man story, it basically falls under two categories, well three though the third is simply because only one man left alive. Anyway, the sex in a last man alive is basically only going to be rape and romantic when it involves the last man. I mean think about it, if there really is only one man left on the planet and has been discovered that there are say no men left, and then one man appears, no matter how ugly he is, every single straight woman in the area will gang up and gang rape him, so to speak.

The romantic comes with he finds a woman he wants to be with and eventualy convinces her to stay with him. See that is the problem with alot of the science fiction stories, they all fall back on the same couple of categories sexually. Also alot of the post whatever where alot of people die have been done tons in movies, sorta hard to give it a good run in stories unless you can come up with a good twist.

Not to toot my own horn, but I suppose I did that with my zombie story, the zombies don't eat brains they fuck. :nana:

I dunno, I think my video inspired idea is pretty different, albeit utterly implausible:

Fifty years ago, an experiment gone wrong released an energy pulse that forever changed the world.

The Pulse radically transformed every female on the planet. All women got an "upgrade" in appearance: ugly women became pretty, pretty women beacame beautiful, etc. Every woman became bisexual, and had their libido increased to an astounding degree, as well as developing an exhibitionist streak a mile wide. About half of all women developed personality traits that were generally considered masculine: they became more aggressive and competitive, developed interest in sports, etc. It also became possible for two women to breed. This last was especially important, because every human male was vaporized by the Pulse.

Their were also an array of more subtle effects, such as changes in the climate (weather became milder, summers and springs lengthened, winters and falls shortened, and temperatures in general tended to comfortable warmth).

After some panic, civilization somehow managed to continue much as it had before, but with differences. It seemed that inter-female breeding could only produce other females, who experienced the same physical and mental abnormalities as their mothers. And so, society changed. Between the milder climates, enhanced libidos, and exhibitionism, society became far more open to sex and sexuality. Clothing that once would've been confined to the bedroom became everday streetwear. Even uniforms became sexier and skimpier. Prostitution was legalized, and along with other forms of erotic entertainment, began to lose its social stigma, becoming a perfectly respectable way of making a living. The line between soft-core porn and regular entertainment and even advertising blurred into nothing. Sex toys began to be sold as regular houshold goods.

Into this world was born Owen Gelman. A one-in-a-billion freak of nature created by a series of unreproducuable flukes, he was the first human male born since the Pulse. After the initial shock, his astonished mothers decided they would do everything they could to ensure he had a normal life. But in a world of women eager to expereince the pleasures of heterosex, that might be hard to achieve.

Shen sorry hun but implausable is most sotries on lit anyway, the problem with your idea there. There is no WHY, I sat there and read that 4-5 times thinking yeah not a bad idea, but freaking WHY was there a pulse? I mean think about this way, would not just happen because an experiment went wrong.

There has to be somethign else, first thought that came to me was aliens of some sort wiping out men so they can either conquer the world or get alot of really horny sex slaves, hence the everyone is bisexual bit. See now the problem is, if they are going to conquer the world, why make women capable of breeding other women, the sex slaves bit, why kill off men since well most likely the aliens can't breed with us and probably can't keep us alive forever.

This is why your idea did not work. Not because it's dumb, but because it leaves way to many holes. I mean plot holes big enough to drive the country through. :p

ideas

Well, if all of the women are bisexual, beautiful, there's prosperity, no hardship, etc, then there really aren't any challenges for the protagonist to overcome. There'd be lots of opportunity for sex scenes, but not a lot of interesting narrative.

I think that it would be sufficient to have the rest of male-kind to be wiped out for some reason (plague, alien invasion, what have you), and the protagonist is a survivor. That leaves plenty of hardships to overcome, but also plenty of attractive women to bone. Even the world as it is has plenty of attractive women, bisexual if you prefer, so I'm sure the last man on earth wouldn't have much trouble getting into sexy situations, but interesting things (gunfights, swashbuckling... uh... explosions? maybe even character development!) can happen in between.

Well, that's my wish list anyway.

Why not?

"Experiments gone wrong" are a classic "enabler".

I disagree.

Consider this: As the Only Guy on Earth, Owen is different from EVERYONE else. He cannot fit in anywhere. Furthermore, everyone he meets is going to want to jump his bones.

How is someone supposed to create a normal life for themselves under such conditions?

THAT is where the narrative comes from.

Well if your so in love with the idea you write it. Now to me yes expirements gone awry is classic fodder for movies of these things, but you see, there is still a problem.

The idea itself has promise except as it is now, it's freakin boring. I'm not kidding here this is standard 12 year old fantasy, wouldn't it be great if there no guys left on the planet, I could get laid anytime I wanted. I had a similar one when I was twelve, though bit more involved, Dad would let me go out because I'd have to repopulate the planet.

See that is where it goes to why bother, it's nothing more than a simple stroke story, and if your going to do that, why even come up with the expirement gone wrong, just do a simpler heavy metal concert and all the guys went except for this one who is now alone with all these beautiful horny women.

I have a story where most people are killed off by ETs through supposedly spontaneous combustion, but it's not gender-specific. There's plenty of sex, but also quite a bit of conflict. Especially since the women are married and two of them develop a thing for each other, and both of them are evangelical Christians. LOL.

I really don't see how this could work in terms of a gender-specific, short of a government scheme to reduce the numbers of men, or a fundamentalist Mormon biological attack (hey, that might work and make sense, if you can manage to get a fundamentalist Mormon with a sufficient degree of ambition and motivation in this regard).

Or some disease where a small number of men are immune, so there are some men left.

Slight bump.
The thing about a situation like this is that it basically resets genetic drift or however it should be phrased. The one guy, or few guys, basically are (unless the rape comes into play) going to choose what traits are going to live on in the species. To me the conflict could be "do we continue based on what's actually best, or just who I want to bone, regardless of if they're prone to intelligence". Considering the mothers pass on their mental traits that is.

And for a cause. I don't know, as said, any of them will be kind of out there in the end. But I like the war ones, there's another layer of drama if countries are hoarding them, there could be politics in the rich countries having an advantage there...

I believe Frederic Brown took this quote and turned it into a full-length story. Can't remember the title, though.

Okay, I'll Share

First off, although I've submitted almost 90 stories here, I've easily written 3 times as many, probably more. Ideas strike me all the time, and some are just a few paras or a few pages and never get finished.

The point being, I wrote about an idea (never finished - surprise!) about something similar. I'll put it out there, I have many more ideas than I have time for, so if anyone wants to take the 'ball' and run with it I won't accuse that person of 'plagiarism' (sorry, a carryover from another thread - LOL). But I would like acknowledgement of the idea.

A young woman returns from college, a rich kid living on "the hill" where all wealthy do. Her family is gone on vacation (sure, they can afford GAS!) Nothing seems to work so she walks into town, again empty. She wanders about aimlessly, her fear growing.

Another person, a man, finds himself equally dazed, and they chance upon one another. They're confused but also clearly attracted to each other for some reason neither can fully account.

SPOILER!

It's all an experiment. The 'town' is a stage set and the players are hypnotized. It's all a thesis to see if environment affects the ability of a woman to conceive. There's plenty of opportunity here to be imaginitive as to who 'she' and 'he' is. Incest, student/professor, or other.

Just a thought.

I think somebody put something in my drink or something, that is a good idea.

All sorts of ways to go about how that works, and can even use the same idea for other things. Like say, two straight men turning gay because no women are available, or two women. ;)

Wait, is this comic book the basis for the UPN film Last Man On Planet Earth, which was a blatantly anti-male movie? I really hated that film, because it made it seem that men are all bad unless we are somehow separated from our necessary warrior instincts. Grrrr.....

<Covertly slipping a small, unmarked brown bottle back into my breast pocket> Oh, is that yours? I'm sorry, I didn't realize you were drinking. Oh, there's my date, I must go.
