Last (it's gotten old folks) morning thread from Spark, 01/16/01

Walkin' down Park Ave., right in front of the Delmonico Hotel about 60th street - we ran smack dab into Rudy G. and his pistol packing troopers. We were the only people on the sidewalk except them - I had my hands in the deep pockets of my black leather Goomba. I got the stare from them all. I used my left arm, hand in pocket to wave my jacket, flap it at them - I said, "Hi Rudy." Not much in acknowledgement came our way. But I didn't get shot - a good thing.

This is it for a while - last morning thread. Many reasons really - but the simplest one is - that the idea has run it's course. I'll still be in touch but have decided to cut back. Yeah, I know - you all have heard that before.

Anyway - have a great day, week, year, decade and long life. Where ever your brain resides.

It's cloudy, calm and 13 degrees in the northern plains. Looking for a balmy 27 degrees before the day is done. It snowed a little the last couple of days, leaving a nice sheet of ice on the streets. Feel like bombing cars with snowballs. hehe.

I'm not going away all together.....

I'm just not going to be doing a regular daily spew - and I have decided that it is time to concentrate on the many complications that make-up the Sparkmeister's real-life. I'll be contributing here and there - maybe even on a daily basis - it's just time to relocate my life priorties a little and not spend so much time - in such a wonderfully and fun - but in the end relatively useless, frivolouse endeavor.

I respect you all - well most of you. I'll be around.

Tip o' the hat to you, Sparky. Though I rarely contributed to your morning threads, I enjoyed reading them and getting a little glimpse into the everyday part of people's lives, etc. I'm a voyeur at heart. Or something.

I have some happy news this morning - I got the apartment in Toronto I applied for and will be moving in with my new roommates in just a few weeks. My bedroom will be tiny, but the place is sunny and nicely-furnished, with a cute little breakfast nook. Plus, it's in a happening location. I'm excited! I've been in a rut for months, and hopefully this will get my motor running again.

With a population of more than 3 million, Toronto is the fifth largest city in North America, you know. Surely in such a large place there's a little something for everyone. It's just a matter of finding it. I'm sure someday the subway will lose its charm, but for now I find it all quite exciting.
