Okey cokey... So I've got a number of stories on the go right now; two SRPs, another in a PM and I've got my first solo story I'm working on, hoping Lit will publish when I'm done.
They're all different ideas and I've got a lot of other stuff running through my mind that I'd like to write over time.
Sooo... Since I've seen a couple of these kinds of threads already, I figured maybe I should start my own little notebook-type thread where I jot down some of my ideas...
Some might be used for SRPs if there are willing participants, while others might be kept for proper, solo stories.
I'm happy for others to post some suggestions for me as well, or even proposals for ideas they have? Won't necessarily take them all on, but some may be workable!
As is probably obvious for many of you, I've called this Laila's Lightbulbs, partly because I'm a fan of alliteration, partly because when you get an idea (at least in the cartoon world) a lightbulb pops up and turns on over your head - and I like that! ...And also partly because everyone else is using the word notebook!
So, on to actual ideas:
First one I want to jot down is another family related one:
Welcome Home, Frankie
Guy's been living away from home, on his own for a while, estranged from his mum and comes back home to find his single mum has moved in with her brother's family. Five in a house with very little room left.
Guy still wants his own independence anyway so sets up camp nearby. He struggles to come to terms with the fact he's around his mum again and only really came home because he missed the local area and friends etc. His mum and uncle can't comfort him and while his cousins do their best, especially in their late teens, they can't really relate to what he's going through and so can't help much.
It's his aunty [in-law] (me) whom he somehow manages to open up to, confide in and seek comfort from. She, herself, is having troubles with her husband, despite painting a happy face on over the surface. She loves her family deeply but has her own struggles. The two become each others' support and, well, one thing leads to another...
- this could probably be written from the Aunty's perspective or from third person, but you get the premise...
