From a man or partner.

Jewelry?

Perfume?

Clothing?

Flowers?

Something personal that is special to you and him?

A weekend alone with him?

What have you received in the past that meant a great deal to you?

I'd rather receive something personal.

A homemade photo album has meant the most to me.

Something personal. My husband built my dining room table and chairs and gave it to me on my last birthday. He did all the work at his uncles' house so I wouldn't find it. It's a beautiful trestle table and six chairs.

Did it already have pictures in it or was it empty?

I think that is a pretty unique gift.:)

It had pics already in it with pages left empty for the future. I treasure it. :)

Simple things.....

Flowers he saw growing wild that made him think of me so he brought them home, a rock worn smooth by rushing waters he knew I would like (I carry one in my pocket always), or to come home on Friday to discover everything was taken care of and we were going away.

Simple pleasures win my heart.

perfume is nice - but i rather buy it myself since I use so many and like to change them frequently

jewlry - again, nice but I'm very picky. if it was a piece of jewlry it must not be gold. a ruby and saphire.... most beautiful stones.

clothing - noe, again, i like to go clothes shopping myself. yes, even for underwear.

flowers - i adore tulips. a man can never be wrong with tulips or lillies.

a weekend alone - :D anytime, just make sure there is enough lube around, because we would need it :D

Halo :rose:

I know the answer to this because I've learnt.

The most important thing is surprise.

I have never gotten any presants, that I can recall.

It seems I am destined to always be alone on those magical gift giving days, Christmas, Valentines Day, Birthday...

But, were I to receive a gift, I would want something personal. Something that the person put alot of time into. It doesn't have to cost alot of money, or be big, or fancy. Just from the heart. Whether its a bouquet of hand picked flowers, a photo of us framed, or something else, if I knew he put his heart into choosing it, I would treasure it always. Such is the way of my heart.

Jewelry is always appropriate.

Jewelry is also very personal. When the man knows yours tastes and picks out the right piece it is perfect.

I can never have too much nice jewelry..

A video game

or a gift certificate to a book store.

For Christmas he bought me some video games I have been wanting. And for Valentines Day I got a certificate to Borders Books.

My cat eats flowers.
I am allergic to many perfumes.
Clothes look sexier on the hangers and sometimes " One Size Fits All " doesn't.
I only wear silver jewlery, and only certain things, like small symbols of my belief.

On time...

Forget the pleasantries. Yes, stuff is cool, but I'd rather have him in the right mood & hard when I need him. (I guess you might classify that as "personal," hmmmm?)

A weekend alone with the person I'm thinking of would be wonderful. Too short, but guaranteed to be fantastic. :D

Jewelry?

It depends. I work with Jewelry all day, and I get a discount. I have shitloads of it and it's kind of old now. Buying me little meaningless trinkets does nothing for me.

However, if there is a special meaning behind a piece, I'd treasure it always.

Perfume?

Eh, don't really wear it.

Clothing?

I'm way picky with my clothes, so he'd have to know my tastes perfectly.

A cute shirt or something sexy picked out by the right guy can go a long way though.

Flowers?

Overdone if it's roses. An arrangement of uncommon flowers, or even a single flower is sweet.

Something personal that is special to you and him?

This is the second best thing I could recieve from a guy. It very rarely happens. This past Valentines day was a perfect example though :)

A weekend alone with him?

Perfect. Absolutely perfect.

Although being flown to Florida for 10 days beat out a weekend, even though he had to work during the week.

What have you received in the past that meant a great deal to you?

The two above :)

For me, it would be a tie between something special to him and I and a weekend alone together.

What have I received in the past that has meant a great deal? 2 things:

1. a pair of totally cheap earrings given to me on Valentine's Day by an ex. Why? It was the only thing he'd ever bought me, and I will never get rid of them.

2. Sounds really stupid, but a cartoon drawing that some one I met online drew on a box in which he sent me a very personal item. Although the item he sent was wonderful, the cartoon was something he drew himself.

thought about it again...

... the gift for me would prolly be a book I always wanted. :) I  books.

Halo :rose:

I am a romantic.

The most memorably special gift: I was dating a guy from Long Island in college. It was my first real love. AFter spring break, he brought me a jar, with a shell, sand and ocean water from Fire Island as I had never seen the ocean.

I love jewelry. I think of the giver whenever I wear a piece of jewelry.

A spontaneous bouquet of flowers rocks my world!

Hmmmmmm spoil me, pamper me, shower me with sweet gifts!

:D

Something that he knew I would want.

I want what I like, and I am not into jewelry, clothes,or stuff like that. I love books and computer things.

As for what I have already received,he gave me this huge arrangement of flowers during the weekend we had together.

That was great.

Simplicity

It's the little things - an email in the middle of the day, a VM left on my cell phone, some little something he picked up just because it reminded him of me. Most precious of all though is just time - where I am given his undivided attention and we can spend some serious quality time together.

Ummm. . .flowers (especially pink roses) are awesome, too. :D

You took the words right off my keyboard!!

IMHO, I don't think most men realize how important those things are. His undivided attention is worth more than anything he could buy me.

Something personal... bonus points if it's handmade.

Sweetest thing my guy ever gave me was an ankle bracelet he made out of beads... ya gotta understand... the guy is NOT the artsy type, is all thumbs when it comes to making things... so the effort was the most meaningful thing about it. :)
