Ladies: Movies, Books, Art That Make You Want to be a Whore

once my friend bought me a painting of a mexican prostitute and said it reminded her of me. personally i thought it was hideous and offensive so she took it back and it now hangs in her room. not that this has anything to do with the thread :)

Kathleen Turner in Crimes of Passion.

I wouldn't mind being China Blue for a week or two. ;)

Well, I like both of them. I've seen both of them numerous times. But if you look at my location, I think that will answer your question. ;)

Ah:) I am glad;)

Moulin Rouge

I love that movie. The music is just unbelieveable. I watched it with my dad's kick ass sounds system full blast, the movie kicked ass. I had the biggest grin on my face while watching that movie my mom told me. I was so absorbed into, watching that movie feels like a dream.

Dangerous Beauty

where the woman becomes a courtesean (sp?) due to not having a dowry and so becomes the most desired and educated woman in Venice.

The first film that romanticized prostitution for me was Louis Malle's Pretty Baby. I grew up very close to New Orleans and Storyville (the red light district) was and still is a big part of that city's culture and flavor.

There is a wonderful book of E J Belloq's photography (on whom the film was loosely based) available. I keep meaning to treat myself to it for a holiday but haven't gotten around to it yet.

Try running an image search on prostitutes using Google sometime, lavender. I've found some great avatars that way.

I have decided that . . . . . . want to be a whore (of course in Paris at the turn of the century).
Psst, Lavy--it is the turn of the century.

I always wanted to be the piano player in the whorehouse.

Ya know.....

No, nothing.

I don't want to be a whore. I never have. I never will. There is nothing glamorous about being someones prostitute, no matter how the movies or books make it look.

Satine goes through emotional hell, is forced to deal with the pressures of her bosses pathetic greediness, and then dies after she finds true love. That isn't glamorous to me.

The summer of my 13th year.
I tagged along with my Uncle to some garage sales in our town. I found a box of books for sale for $1.00. I bought the box and took them home. One of the books in the box was John Norman's Gor series. I think it was Slave Girl of Gor. That began my life time journey into kinkyness. I am NOT an advocate of the Gor life at all ...... but my imagination more than fills in any need I might have for that type of life.

*sigh* * drool*
