For a story, I need a name of a perfume.

Something that is an expensive, name dropper's kind of perfume, but also one that's really good.

Multiple suggestions will also be helpful.

Oh, and while I'm at it, anybody have any suggestions for a word that is less pseudo-intellecutal sounding than "Pithy"?

Thank you.

as in a pithy comment? I;d have to know the context but what about "biting?"

can't help you with the perfume... except maybe Chanel No. 5?

"Joy" - ungodly expensive perfume.

Can't help you with the word choice - my muse has flown. :(

no good with perfumes..I like what i like and it doesn't matter what it's name is or if it's fashionable *L*

As for Pithy...hmmm cheeky? zesty? vivacious? Am I getting anywhere close?

Ahhh I was thinking of it as more a description for a person....ok well short and to the point are good then *L*

otherwise would "brief" do then?

Actually "Pithy" more as in short and to the point.

I can't think of anything better than pithy. Then again, I also never realized it was a "pseudo-intellectual" term. ;) *sigh* What a pithy.

Min, you're really pithy me off.

Yes well, it is a common misconception that words have to be grandly poly-syllabic to be properly associated with the pseudo-intellectual. However, those less commonly used words which are more widely misconstrued can also be indicators of the aspiring intellectual. Ironically, the it is the envious wit that will tend to use such a word as "pithy" in a context decidedly not...

...OK, another feeble attempt...

The word always brings to mind the old Farside cartoon of the two frogs driving along in a car. (Sorry, the random association is a symptom of my persistent vegetative state.)

Nothing more need be said. :D I am plagued by random associations myself.

Perfume - Anything by Chanel (No 5 is popular) or Gucci (Envy! Envy!) or Christian Dior (J'Adore)

Gotta back up the suggestion of Chanel No 5. It's the bee's knees, the cat's ass and my cup of tea.

Not very pithy, am I?

If you really need multiple suggestions, I can only think of a few others, though it's been years since I've shopped perfume so I don't know how hip these fragrances are...

Obsession for Women
Beautiful
Liz Taylor's Diamond Series:
White Diamonds
Diamonds and Rubies
Diamonds and Emeralds
Diamonds and Sapphires

Hope that helps!

I like "Quelques Fleur" when I wear anything at all. Not even sure it's still made.

Chanel also makes a very good perfume which it markets as Chanel #22. Chanel #5 is good, but having a character use #22 would paint the character as a much more sophisticated lady than the use of the much more well known #5.

How 'bout Picasso? That's what I get when I can afford it. Little Black Dress is neat too... verry nice! :cathappy:
