Ladies: Do You Cherish the Gifts from the Man in Your Life?

I.

1. What weight do you give the gift that he gives you?

I give the weight it deserves. If the fella has thought about it at all,it means the world. If he picked out a last minute gift at the gas station cause he forgot your birthday, then it would mean very little to me.

2. Do you want jewelry more then other gifts?

Nope

3. Do you want knick knacks or cute?

Nope,I have 3 kids, knick knacks and cute things get lost and broken.

4. Do you want something meaningfull from him?

Yes,most definately

5. If the meaningful item was a knick knack or trinket would you give it more weight then something expensive?

Yes

II. If you broke up would you:

1a. Continue to use what he gave you and keep everything.

Nope,I would give it all back.

1b. Pack away his gifts.

Yep

1c. Throw out some stuff and keep what was useful.

Nope I'd send it back to him.

1d. Throw everything out.

Nope he would get it back.

III. Do you expect him to get rid of gifts from prior gf's?

Get rid of? No and yes. Is it something that he treasured? Then yes get rid of it. Is it useful and he has just got into the habit of using the object? No then he could keep it.

IV. Can you accept his gift to you as something meaningful for the two of you?

Yes

V. Can you appreciate past gifts without strong emotional attachment to them?

Yes and No-see my answer above.

I.

1. What weight do you give the gift that he gives you?

That depends on what the gift is. If he put thought into it, then it automatically sits among my most treasured posessions.

2. Do you want jewelry more then other gifts?

Not really.

3. Do you want knick knacks or cute?

If it's something he thinks will say something to me, then I have no problem with "pretties".

4. Do you want something meaningfull from him?

Yes. What's the point of a gift, otherwise? Then again, the fact that he bought it (or made it) automatically gives it meaning of some sort.

5. If the meaningful item was a knick knack or trinket would you give it more weight then something expensive?

I would much rather have a meaningful trinket than an expensive gift that meant nothing to him.

II. If you broke up would you:

1a. Continue to use what he gave you and keep everything.

No.

1b. Pack away his gifts.

If I couldn't give them back or if he didn't want them.

1c. Throw out some stuff and keep what was useful.

No.

1d. Throw everything out.

No.

1e. Other, please explain.

There have been instances where a relationship ended agreeably, and we discussed what was to be done with gifts. Most of the time he didn't want them back, and would ask me to consider them as I would a gift from a friend and nothing more. So, occasionally, I keep and use things from ex's, but nothing that had any heavy meaning in our relationship (ie- rings).

III. Do you expect him to get rid of gifts from prior gf's?

Depending on what the gift is, and the meaning behind it, I might appreciate it if he did. I expect nothing.

IV. Can you accept his gift to you as something meaningful for the two of you?

Yes.

V. Can you appreciate past gifts without strong emotional attachment to them?

Once again, that depends on the gift and the circumstances around it.
