Yep, yours truly, intrepid jazz man and man about town spent his New Year's Eve in relative peace and tranquility.
I went over to a friends house for a small gathering where we ate dinner, hung out a bit, talked politics and college football and watched Maryland beat up on Tennessee (Fear the Turtle!). I did get to sit in on what was described to me as "girl talk" which was fun and instructional.
I left the soiree early mostly because I was tired after a fairly long work day and also because I had to be up early for work. I could have stayed longer, but I knew I'd be a bear in the morning if I didn't scoot when I did. So I went home, found a bit of dessert, watched "Die Hard", puttered around on the computer until the ball dropped, then went to bed, happy and content.
All in all, it was incredibly boring and probably more than my share of pedestrian, but it wasn't bad. It was life at my speed the way I like to live it.
Happy New Year All.
