lack of feedback

I do note a common concern and that is the general lack of feedback authors receive.

I don't want to start a 'you read mine I'll read yours club' but please, if there is anybody out there, apart from other writers, please indicate your existance.

Actually, the "You Show Me Yours and I'll Show You Mine," method has been the most effective way I've found to get good feedback. It's also rather fun.

But

Maybe when you drop your point, you might want to point us in a general idea of what story you are referring to. Some of us might just check it out without any strings attached!

I wasn't refering to a particular story of my own. it was just a general comment.

However I always appreciate constructive crticism of my work. Not the anonymous 1 I just received.

I did mention in an e-mail to the organisers of this site that a read counter would be handy for writers so they at least know that their stories are being read. You may have a couple of thousand readers but only one chooses to vote. That can be a little disheartening.

Ditto on both points.

I've given no-strings-attached feedback. But the more rewarding exchanges involve learning the why's and how's of a person from the author and sharing them in return. You get good insight into the creative process that way.
