OOC Hey, is anyone interested in a Labyrinth thread?? I love that movie so much. FOr those who haven't seen it, (I suggest you should) it's about the Sarah. Jareth takes her little brother away after she asks for it to happen. But once he's gone, she begs Jareth to give him back. He makes her a deal. If she can get to his castle, in the center of the labyrinth, in 13 hours, then he'll give him back. If not, he turns into a goblin. Sarah accepts, and begins her journey. At the entance to the Labyrinth, she finds Hoggle. He helps her open the door, and she starts off alone. She meets may characters, and hoggle comes back. They join forces. In truth, Jareth has sent Hoggle to lead her back to the beginning to throw her off track, but Sarah convinces him to help her by giving him her jewlry. They meet other peole, and sarah eventually makes it to the castle, of course.
If so, I'd like to be Sarah, but there's a who ton of other characters. Like; Jareth (Goblin King, but not a goblin himself) Hoggle(i'm not PRECISLY sure what he is, but he's dwarf-ish), Luto(large animal type thing), Sir Didymus(small talking dog), Junk Lady, Various goblins, Toby (Sarah's BABY brother, so i guess not really a playable character) the worm, and any other character that anyone could come up with....
Let me klnow if you're interested. :)

I always love Sir Didymus. Thought he was the shiznit, absolutely the funniest character in there.
Luto looked like one of my cousins, really he did. I was kinda scared.
I'll take the fun loving dog, for now. hee hee, he has a steed doesn't he? I forgot the name of the horse (really a dog, I know) it's been forever since I've seen he movie.
I always loved it though. One of my favorite 80's fantasy movies.

Didymus's dog is named Ambrosious, who is the mirror versoin of Sarah's dog in her world, Merlin. (I'm so obsessed with the movie)

Oh! You ought to do a search on that..there is an old thread regarding that movie from a long time ago..in the sexual role playing I think. You may find it interesting....

Yeah, I remember that thread, was a part of it for a while too. Just because I love the whole concept of the fantasy Labrynth world.
That single movie made me obsessed with that one riddle, you all know the one.
The door and the guard one?
Yeah, I had to watch it forever, and still couldn't get it. I finally have it though, and am now a master of riddles, well if nothing at least an experienced riddler.
So, we going to follow the movie, or pretend to do a sequel, or possibly go off on another tangent?

it's a fav of mine as well

who could forget:

"What power?" "the power of voodoo" "voodoo?" "you do" "do what?" "remind me of the babe?"

I remember this movie, but it's been 13 years since i last saw it. Think I'll go pick it up at the video store, now that you've all whet my appetite to see it again. Hoggle was a gnome, by the way. I'd love to play his character.

There's just something about the joy of running around, anesthetizing pixies with the fantasy equivalent of a can of Raid...

Just thought I'd mention, and I don't know if he'd accept or not, but there's someone named "Svedish_Chef" who posts sometimes that would make a perfect Jareth. He's the spitting image, I swear. Take a look at his avatar, and tell me if you agree.

I'd like to keep the plot idea, but still go off on a tangent as well....
I'd love for there to be tons of characters in here, some from the movie and some not, ... god, i love that movie so much..... i'm gonna watch it once i'm off the net.... good idea, BLaze... It'd be cool if you played Hoggle.

Hey, is anyone still interested in this thread? I havn't seen anyone post here in two weeks. Anyway, come on people, this is a great idea for an RPG, let's not let it die without making some kind of attempt at a plotline, alright?

Everybody, feel free to post! We need suggestions! Settings! Characters! Movie lovers! Anything!

Hello??????????????

Well, this is sort of Lady Galadriel's baby. I was waiting for her to say something about this, or at least have her come back. She hasn't been here in a while.
I have nothing to add, I mean, I'm ready with my character, and do this as soon as everyone else is. I'm not sure what The Lady wants as far as plot, setting characters, lol, but it shouldn't be too hard to figure out.
Plot.
The baby is stolen and Sara has thirteen hours to solve the Layrinth and get the baby.
Setting.
The Labyrinth, the Goblin City, the castle beyond the Goblin city.
Characters.
Of course everything in the movie, and a few other crazy ones that seem suitable. Flyings heads and deaf doorknockers, homeless trash ladies, Goblins guards, and maybe some Swamp monsters. A short fat creature who goes around the Laybrinth covered with the swamp of Eternal Stench, and throws it at anyone that is sees. Hee hee, now that's a tough challenge.
Of course, with Didymus' great sense of smell, we should all be fine.
I would say as soon as Lady comes back and give the go ahead, we can start this.

ooc: sorry bout the long absensce, but i've been busy. i'd love to get into this asap, but i think i'd like to find out who some of the other characters are first.
Let me know everyone.

OOC:

'S all good, LadyGaladriel, welcome back. Hope you had a good holiday. I'm all ready with a character, will take Hoggle since no one else wants him and I called it first anyway. Hope this starts up soon!!!

Sarah

The beautiful girl, sttod in her regal dress, facing the goblin king without a trace of fear. She spoke with courage and authority.
"I have fought my way here, through the goblin city, to take back what you have stolen." She paused, then with more strengh in her voice, she said "For my will is as strong as yours, and my kingdom as great." She paused again, thinking. "For my will is as strong as yours, and my kingdom as great." she paused, searching in her mind... "DAmn. I can never remember the next line."
Sarah ran a hand absently through her long dark brown hair and sighed and pulled out her favorite story, The Labyrinth. Checking the words, she mumbled to herself, "You have no power over me" and repeated it many times to help her memorize it. Her father and step mother had just left for the evening, and she was stuck babysitting her bratty baby brother, Toby. She sat in front of her mirror, and applied some of her red lipstick, and admired herself in the mirror. She thought it made her look mysterious. In the mirror, something caught her eye. How strange. SHe turned to look, and she was right. Lancelot, her favorite teddy bear that she'd had since she was a baby was gone again.
"SOmeone's been in my room again." she said angrlily She stood and crossed to the door. " I hate that. I hate it!" she ran across the hall into her parents and Toby's bedroom. He was crying in heis crib, and that only made Sarah angrier. "I hate you! I hate YOU!" she screamed. She ran to his crib, but not to comfort him. She snatched Lanecelot from his hands, and his wailing grew louder.
"Be quiet! Be quiet Toby!" she let out an exasperated cry, and picked him up and bounced him lightly in her arms. "Shh... It's okay Toby. Hush... come on Toby, go to sleep..." She let out another frusterated sigh. "You want a story?? FIne." She placed him back in the crib. "Once yupon a time, there was a beautiful girl. And she lived with her father and her wicked stepmother. And they always made her stay home with the baby. And the baby was a spoiled wicked child who wanted everything for himself, and the young girl was practically his slave. But what no one knew, was that the king of the goblins was in love with the girl, and he had given her special powers. And then one day, when she was tired from a day of housework, and hurt by the harsh words of her stepmother, and she could baer it no longer.
***
A strange thing was happening in a world that was no Sarah's own. A stirring of goblins, who had heard Sarah's plantive voice calling out for help from the goblins. They listened closer with anticipation.
***
"Goblin king, Goblin king, where ever you may be,
Take this child of mine, far away from me!" she cried.
***
The goblins let out a collective breath.
"That's not it!" one cried.
"Where'd she learn that rubbish" cried another.
"It doesn't even start with 'I wish' " said another. They shoook their heads.
"I wish the goblins would come and take you away" one screamed. "that's not hard, is it?!"
***
Back at her home, it almost seemed that Sarah had heard them.
"I wish" she said softly to her self..."I wish..." Toby's wails became more insistant, and she put him back down, and roughly covered him with his sheets. Grabbibg Lancelot, she walked towards the door. She turned and looked back at toby.
"I wish the goblins would come and take you away." she hit the light switch. "right now." Sarah turned and left Toby to cry alone.
She opened the door to her room, and suddenly, Toby's crys stopped. Sarah paused, and looked back.
"Toby" she called softly. "Toby? why aren't you crying?" SHe hurried vback to the room, and flicked the lightr switch. Nothing happened. She flicked it back and forth quickly. Still the room was dark. She heard giggling, and crossed slowly toward the crib. She could see Toby- or something else- squirming under the sheets. SHe heard giggling all around her and spun around.
"Toby?" she called out, frightened. Her hand moved slowly to pull back the sheet. The squirming thing was still there. "Toby?" she whispered, and pulled back the sheet. Toby was gone.
"Toby!" she called out. "Toby, where are you??!!" The wind began to whistle out side the window, and it's hatch seemed to be coming undone, as Sarah crosed to close it, a large white owl flew in the room.
Sarah screamed, as the owl disappeared, and was replaced with a handsome man dressed very lavishly, who stood imposingly in front of her.
Sarah's voice was little more than a whisper. "Who are you?" he didn't answer, only cocked his head at an angle and looked at her. "I know you," she said, with a voice of awe mixed with fear. "You're him. You're the Goblin King." he smiled. "I want my brother back, if it's all the same." she said. He shook his head softly.
"What's said is said."
"BUt I didn't mean it!"
"Oh, you didn't?" his remark was somewhat sarcastic, and Sarah looked down. He held up a hand, and in it he held a ball. It reflected sarah's eyes.
"I've brought you a gift." he offered.
"What is it?" she asked timidly.
"It's a crystal. If you turn it this way, and look into it, it will show you you're dreams. Do you want it?" he paused, although there was no need to wait for her reply. The look in her eyes was enough. "Then forget about the baby." The look on her face crumbled.
"I can't do that."
"SHame," he said, nonchalantly. He looked at her, trying a new tactic. "Sarah," he spun the ball, and it became a snake in his hands "Don't defy me." HE threw the snake at her, and it got caught around her neck. She pulled on it, and it became a ribbon which she threw to the ground, and from under the ribbon emerged a goblin which laughed at her. "You're no match for me, Sarah." he said with a laugh.
"But i've got to get my brother back! He must be so scared! Where is he?"
He sighed. "You know very well where he is." he pointed out hte window, and Sarah could see that the view had changed. "He's there, in my castle. Do you still want to look for him??" Sarah turned, and relized she was no longer in her home. She was standing on a hill in front of the labyrinth.
"I have no choice."
"Such a pity," he whispered in her ear. " You have thirteen hours in which to solve tha labyrinth, before your baby brother becomes one of us, forever." He faded away into darkness. "Such a pity."
Sarah shivered, and looked out at the labyrinth. "Doesn't look to hard" she started walking down the hill toward it. "Come on, feet."

OOC: a little sad no one responded to my last one, but i supose Ididn't leave a very good chance to respond. So with high hopes, i will continue.....

As Sarah made her way down the small hill, she heard the sound of water dropping...
"Sounds... like a sort... of waterfall."
She emerged from behind a tree, and there was a short little man, who appeared to be peeing into the pond.
"Oh my!" cried Sarah. That was the thing she had expected least!

IC:

"Oh my!"

Pulling up his trousers with a quick jerk, The diminutive man twisted around to look at the owner of the feminine voice. He looked her up and down, and he sneered.
"Oh, it's you."
Turning briskly away, he ambled toward the nearby wall, taking up his bug spray as he went, and began following the flitting shapes flying among the shrubs.
"57..."
A quick pull of the trigger, and one of the fairies dropped to the ground.
"58..."
And another...

"What are you doing! You're a monster!" he paid her no attention. "You're horrible!" as she picked up one of the poor fairies he had been so carelessly spraying. "So pretty" she whispered.

"Horrible?", he said, twisting around to look at her. "I'm not horrible. I'm Hoggle." And with that, he turned, tracing the path of another of the flitting shapes with his eyes.
"59..."

Sarah gasped as he sprayed another defensless fairy. She rushed over and picked it up with the intent of compforting it. She looked at the tiny beauty of the thing, and-
"Ow!" she looked at Hogwart- or whatever his name was "It BIT me!!"

Sneering, he raised a thick brow, gazing at her in derision.
"Well, of course. What did you expect it to do?"

"Heh, well, shows what you know."
Tracing the path of another of the winged shapes, he began to follow it slowly.

Sarah couldn't believe this . . . guy! How rude, she thought to herself, and turned to face the Labyrinth. Large, high, solid brick walls. She looked around, and couldn't see a door anywhere. Maybe the mean little guy knew how to get in, she mused.
"Hey, " she said, "Do you know how to get into the labyrinth??"
