Not really. People make their relationships work for them. The whole point is that there *is* no pre-set notion as to what it's supposed to be.

Do some reading, (the BDSM library here is excellent) talk about your pre-conceptions, and ask questions. You'll see that it is not so full of 'rules' as you might think. I've always considered it a question of matching up 'interests' and going from there. Some PLY's like to run a tight ship, while others are VERY informal. It all depends.

Try not to judge it all too quickly. We pyl's are able to speak up and say what's on our mind. We don't check our brains at the door when we strip naked.
