Has anyone been watching this TV show? is it any good? is it hot? I'm shocked by the number of known actresses in the show and was thinking about getting season 1 next week from blockbuster.

I'm not impressed with it. Were it not for the F-F relationships, it'd just be another kinda lame soap opera. The writing isn't anything special.

Season 1 is the best of the lot. After that, the show went downhill. In the first season, the on-again/off-again relationship between Jenny and Marina is pretty hot. I enjoyed it.

Shane is definitely hot. But, oh Mama mia, I thought Marina was just about the most appetizing thing imaginable. Remember that scene in the first season when she follows Jenny into the bathroom and just grabs her and pushes her to the wall and starts kissing her? Yummy. She's macho femme....sexy, sexy.

Never watched anything but a clip or two prior to this summer.

Then I caught the first few seasons on netflix.

The writing sucks out the ass. No continuity. Most of the characters are flat and superficial. Half of them I find go aggrivating, I'd liked to just turn a hose on them.

I stopped watching when they killed off one of the more likeable characters in the 3rd season.

And DO NOT get me started on Shane. Jesusfuckingchrist! Somebody give her a hairbrush and some acting lessons. I find her to be totally repulsive. Total turn off.


But even with all that, some of the sex scenes are hot. Especially between Bette and Tina. And to be honest, if not for them....I would not have any interest at all.

AND I just read yesterday that the last season will begin with Jenny getting killed off. I will have to watch just for that.

Marina is the most attractive character to me, hands down.

As for Shane, her physical appearance does nothing for me. I'm not into 14-year-old boy physiques. However, her confident, no-apologies nature is sexy.

I'm not sure who is who but will get season 1 for the weekend. I just love the fact that Kelly Lynch is in the story - loved her in Road House I....then Anne Archer, I've had a crush on her since "fatal attraction" ... never knew that she was on Falcon Crest (my mom loved that show but I can't remember any of them)....then we have Jennifer Beals, loved her in flash dance. here is something crazy I'm not sure how many will feel about Rosanna Arquette but I've enjoyed several of her movies.

Frankly, I like the show. I'm not going to go into hysterics about the plotlines or the people. I think the characters are real enough, because to be perfectly honest, plenty of people in real life are as flat and superficial as the ladies on the show. It's good escapism, and it's pretty easy to keep up with. I don't know what kind of cable/satellite service you have, but if you have one of the big satellite packages, you could watch The L Word on the Logo channel. Otherwise, I say don't base your feeling on the show on everyone else's opinion. Rent it and watch it.

lol thanks, but I'm one of the nuts here. I just can't watch the news...tonight is great as its football night. I hate the news as its so doom and gloom and has only been selling "negative" for the past 6 years.

I need to watch stuff that will help me write and help get my mind of reality. yeah the economy sucks but I don't want to hear about it after 6pm.

with the L word, after doing a search on IMDB i'm impress by the number of "hotties" on the show. I love drama but only on TV or in a book...not in real life

You can buy the boxed set of the previous seasons for barely more than the price of season 1. As for content, writing, acting ability, yah, right, whatever, hands up (and out of your pants) everyone who was watching it for its qualities as great american literature.

After thay killed off Dana in the third season, I just got pisssed. Other than wanting to see Tina and bette get back together...I had no interest in the show. I've discovered that you can see all the "good" scenes on youtube and still follow the gist of the plots (if you can call them that).


And I must say that I do plan on watching the fifth season just cuz of some of the scenes that were on youtube.

I'll just fastforward all the scenes that deal with Jenny or Shane....
