L.A. Times, 'time to cancel the Star Spangled Banner'

Time to stop reading the L.A. Times.

But they're sooooo good!!!

If they wont support "progress" then who will??

And where will I get all my ammo for pointing out how much the left hates the USA???

Oh...yea....NYT, RAW, Buzzfeed, Slate, Hollywood, Salon, ABC, MSNBC, USA TODAY, CNN, BBC, Time and a couple dozen others.

:D

I haven't read the piece, but if it was published in the Entertainment section, it's very unlikely that it represents the official editorial position of the paper.

The L.A. Times has become the spokesman for the Mexican diaspora in the United States and should no longer be considered a publication loyal to the United States as it is understood to be by a vast majority of the American people. It should be listed along with the communist oriented media you just listed.;):D

That was actually a very good article. I don't go for "lean on me" as being an acceptable replacement. I'd take Jimi's Woodstock improvised version as the most powerful Star Spangled performance I've ever heard, but not appropriate as a sing along anthem.

Even Sinatra had a beef with it...it isn't a great song, it's too hard for audiences to sing and it's to the music of it's British counter part as a poke in the eye to the King.

And you righties fail to understand the history...it never was sung in schools, baseball games and other sports events until a particular moment as a backlash to the growing communist movement in this country(at a time in history when there actually was one...there is none today).

Anyone know when why?

I'm good with it going... American the beautiful is way better or This Land is your land...all way better in my book.

The whole idea sucks mouse balls.

There's been a decades long campaign to replace it because of those reasons. It is a musical disaster.

Star Spangled Banner sucks as a national anthem, anyway.

I prefer the Ray Charles version of America, the Beautiful.

The old order is rapidly changing. Yeah, maybe a Bob Dylan tune.

Let the white supremacists and the situational Koreans go sulk in the corner. :)

You grow more whiney, hateful, and racist every day.

The Star Spangled Banner sucks as a song and Leftist LA Times sucks as a paper. They deserve each other.

Should have been replaced the day after Fatass Barr (no, not that one) putrefied it.

Reichturd claims familiarity with the balls of mice?

Other than the known size of mouse balls, and my familiarity with the small people with small minds on the left. I know for them, those mouse balls would be a mouthful. You'd be stuffed and too full for desert.

Right on!!! I forgot about that version. It's killer good!
